I’ve played 3 Gaelco games in arcades: Radikal Bikers, which my local bowling alley had, Smashing Drive, which I played at a Center Parcs in France, and Tokyo Cop, which used to be in arcades on P&O Ferries. All great games, I first heard about Tokyo Cop from Sky One gaming show Gamezville!

Smashing Drive? That's that taxi game, right? I had it on the Gamecube.

1:34 You say that like it’s a bad thing. I loved living in the 90’s. Thunder Hoop reminds me of Bubba n’ Stix on the Genesis meets Super Ghouls n’ Ghosts. I can see from your footage that I’d play the hell out of that game! Hell yeah!
@ThatGamingGuyfromthe70s3 жыл бұрын
This is my most wanted cart. I played world rally loads in the arcade, great memories of that one. I played bio mechanical toy on mame years ago and loved it. The 90's cheese is strong but its exactly why I want these little known games which aren't available anywhere else officially.

I don't remember any of these games but they all look interesting. This device has been putting out quite a bit of Gaelco console stuff so now it's the lesser known arcade content. Arcade stuff is becoming more accessible again so it's good to have rarities and obscurities out there.
@jacksparrow41113 жыл бұрын
Strange that they didn't include Thunder Hop 2. Anyway, here in Spain it was quite common to find one of these arcade cabs on bars. I think that the first of rheir games I saw in an arcade gallery was Radikal Bikers, which was a great success and even so a PlayStation port. But the arcade cabinet with the scooter handlebar was a much better experience and a coin eater. When they brought Biomechanical Toy to the bar under my parents appartement, I was very impressed.

Haha you clearly don't understand the wonky European style of Arcade games in the 90s. There were tons of silly games everywhere and they were all fantastic imo. I played several of the titles on this cart every summer when I was a teenager on vacation in Italy and Spain. Perfect way to end the afternoon after a day of gawking at the topless girls on the beach 😂😂

Since Piko now own the Gaelco library, I’d like to see a 2 in 1 for the Evercade on which the PSone version of Radikal Bikers joins 40 Winks!
@AngryCalvin3 жыл бұрын
I'm glad Piko is curating a few of these games and putting them out there. Even if too many of them are not great or the ones we really want badly. None of these would ever see the light of day again if someone wasn't doing it. At least where you can actually buy it legally instead of downloading a ton or playing online. There are countless games out there still under copyright and the devs/authors do nothing about them. Only a handful are released into public domain. It's frustrating I can't buy games like Shatterhand, Shadow of the Ninja, GI Joe, Blades of Vengeance, El Viento, and even a few Kunio titles.

Thunder hoop was one of my favourite arcade games when I was a kid (along with a lot of others, like sunset riders). An arcade (in the greek island I was living at the time) had this game and it was really popular. Later I played gaelco's radikal bikers, it was awesome as well

yep, all games work on the handheld and all games except for 2 work on the console. The 2 Namco carts currently dont work on the console due to Namco having to double dip on licensing. May be an update in the future to make them work, but thats the only exception as far as compatibility.

@Keith Courage RX-78-2 The arcade game is different from the console ports.

@@jwill7998 The arcade version is quite horrible though gameplay wise. The so bad it's good only applies to the console version (preferably Saturn).
@jwill79983 жыл бұрын
@@ZX3000GT1 Nah. The console version plays like a poorly programmed port of Street Fighter II, but with digitized sprites. The arcade version is fast paced mayhem, with even more moves than the game the movie is based on.
@ZX3000GT13 жыл бұрын
@@jwill7998 Interesting. I found the arcade version to be unbalanced, unfair, poorly thought out fighter myself (although I played it on MAME, so maybe emulation issues?). While I find the Saturn version to be a slightly jankier SF2T, and actually had fun with it. That said, if they decided to make Incredible Technologies collection, Bloodstorm would be the best of the lot - it has decapitation mechanics and is much more interesting than either versions of SF:The Movie the game.
@jwill79983 жыл бұрын
@@ZX3000GT1 It's definitely has balance issues, but it's mindless fun. It reminds me of the Midway WWF arcade game. The console version is objectively a better fighting, but you might as well play Super Turbo.
