A summary of the data from Imagine's video on this. If you do not have volatile the mg is worse than a firing line linear. If you do it's better than the firing line linear after about 4.3 seconds of damage. It will never beat a cataclysmic+witherhoard. This is all assuming you do not miss any shots in any of the weapons and have perfect swaps and doing damage on a boss with no weird crit multiplier. Regarding Linear being a weird pick, im surprised you went with the 'Bungie nerf might be weak' angle. You know as well as I do that its very easy to design a boss that is incredibly difficult to DPS without a ranged precision weapon. Damage scaling based on boss included. Full coverage of all types of DPS is important because of primarily boss design and secondarily the total damage / burst damage meta.

I'm very confused by that opening comment. in high end content is when I think most about whether or not to use a machine gun (or other ad clear heavy) and then I'll pair it with either witherhoard or Div to support my allies, or to get still decent DPS (this season WH just wins out though since I can get the better DPS and debuff the enemy) In high level content where ads can and have overwhelmed our team before machine guns like thunderlords or a void with volatile active have saved our butts many times.

If both GLs and snipers get a buff, ALH/Cascade could be paired with a sniper for a potential dps monster. Cascade juices the hell out of your rof after 2 sniper crits, so the idea is you'd swap back and forth.

Taipan mag (battery?) perk is probably better off being Liquid Coils, because with Enhanced Battery and Backup Mag mod it only reaches 6 bullets base. Not enough to get the 3rd Triple Tap proc. Liquid Coils will give better damage and less ammo waste

Bc the iron banner rocket is a high impact which means it does 10% less damage than bump. So even a bump with vorpal will still hit harder than a lasting impression high impact. Basically all high impacts are instant dismantles.

Palmyra is a precision frame which means it does ~22% less damage than bump in the night. Basically makes it useless. If you want tracking on a rocket you're better off getting tracking module on an adaptive/ aggressive frame.

So from other vids i have seen and my own experiences. Bump with chill is by far the best. 1 person with gally for wolfpack and 3 with chill and the shatter damage was insane. With that combo, 1 divinty and 1 oddball deepstone was 2 phase where no other combos tested were less than 3 phase. LMG without volatile is not much better than corrective measure or deep stone LMG. Spire LMG shouldnt be pushed aside either imo. Tiapian is 100% liquid coils gives 3 more impact for a 44 total instead of 41 you recommended. And bait and switch is miles superior to firing line, literally no comparison. Dollar store crucible RL is utter trash and you are far better with palamyra b or however you spell it. No complaints on wendigo and i know you didnt add exotics, but prospector is a friggen melt machine with all its secret buffs.
