Omg love that!! What’s your favourite book of the year?
@elaynejuten908412 сағат бұрын
YESSSS!!!! Court of Silver Flames!!! I remember reading it, loving it and going to read others reviews and everyone hating it lol. I loved how dislikable she was because she kind of felt the most realistic out of all the sisters. Agree on the character growth. It was so well written. It’s a 5 despite the spice.
@elaynejuten908412 сағат бұрын
I got so excited you liked Silver Flames I missed the prompt. My three 5 star reads that weren’t in your list are: 1. This Is How You Lose The Time War by Max Gladstone & Amal El-Mohtar 2. The Dead Romantics by Ashley Poston (similar vibes to Seven Year Slip which also a 5 star for me) 3. Piranesi by Susanna Clarke

Omg I loooooved the dead romantics!! Haven’t read the other two but really want to!

I’m from Poland where Auschwitz is placed. People who actually work there and historians who specialise in Auschwitz history really hate this book and say that most of it is fake. I’m glad you liked it but just wanted to clear misinformation that book contains. There are polish youtube channels where they explain it less briefly than me :)
@scrivspo11 сағат бұрын
Wait people say the tattoos of Auschwitz if fake!? I swear it was very heavily based on Lale’s real life story, that’s so confusing!!
@claudgata116911 сағат бұрын
@ yes! There’s no way this is true. Some of it might be but for example there’s no way Lale had so many opportunities to see his love. In concentration camps women and men were held hostage separately. Auschwitz history is really horrific and historians say that the author of this book did the poor research 🧐
@scrivspo10 сағат бұрын
@@claudgata1169 that’s so interesting. I’d be really keen to hear Lale’s take and what’s in the book vs what he experienced in real life
@claudgata116910 сағат бұрын
@@scrivspo yeah me too! I do believe Lale has been through really hard and scary things. I’d love to hear his true voice. The author of this book is just really not believable to me

A good chunk of my 5 stars have already been included in your video! A few more 5 stars that I loved though are The Reading List by Sarah Nisha Adams, The American Roommate Experiment (would recommend reading Spanish Love Deception first though) by Elena Armas, Mrs. Nash’s Ashes by Sarah Adler, and The Neighbor Favor by Kristina Forest!

Ok, my 5 stars 🤔 A Darker Shade of Magic by V.E. Schwab (the whole trilogy - I promise I won’t recommend it again 😄). A Discovery of Witches by Deborah Harkness (the original trilogy, don’t bother with the later written books 4 and 5). The Salt Path by Raynor Winn. I don’t keep track of my reads and have a terrible memory so this is what has stuck in my head! Thanks so much for your content, you rock! Have a great Christmas 🎄

Literally went on Goodreads and looked at my 5-star reads and found Ryan Graudin's Wolf by Wolf. I haven't read this book in years, but it was so unique that I can still remember parts of it and now I really want to reread it. Honestly you need to read the blurb to really get a feel for what the story is because a lot is going on, but picture this: Nazi's won WWII, there's a very famous long-distance motorcycle race and there's a girl that was experimented on in Auschwitz and now has the ability to shape shift and change what she looks like whenever she wants. She sets out to win this motorcycle race to get a chance to get close enough to Hitler and kill him. It's so insane and obviously not close to the truth, but it really hit hard for me and I just loved that premise cause what the fuck is actually going on??

Based on what you have rated 5 stars here, I think you would like One Last Stop by Casey McQuiston, and Life After Life by Kate Atkinson. (Two VERY differnet books, but each wonderful for what it is.)

I’m literally at 2:14 and I just got so passionately angry about the “audiobooks aren’t reading” crew because I was thinking that awe how sweet that HP audiobook is probably so good because it sparks imagination in the same way reading to kids does and my new hot take is if you think reading to children is important than audiobooks are reading. And if you disagree sorry babe you’re wrong.

I have just found you, via the colour analysis video you did with CA in Melb (which was super) and then saw this book review Video and its the BEST. I love so many of the books you have rated 5 stars.. So I have written down the ones I haven't read and will asap!. Thank you for sharing your beautiful reviews. I could hear in your voice how some of the books really affected you... same for me :-) My TOP book/book series of all time and that I love love and have re-read is The Clan of the Cave Bear and the series from Jean E Auel (prehistoric, strong female, author has researched the time so much so you learn too). Pride&Prejudice by Jane Austen as my classic and latest 5 star, Things you Save in a Fire by Katherine Centre (great life lessons). Do you use Goodreads?
