Long time Phoenix fan here. Great breakdown on Mikal - he is best suited as a 3 and D specialist, not the primary playmaker like the Nets were doing. When he gets to play off the ball he can focus more on backdoor cuts which he is good at also; he's basically the perfect 3 and D wing.

On point. Mikal will thrive with the Knicks next year, because the Knicks don't need him to be their #1 or even #2 option on offense and that's why they wanted him so much -- he perfectly fills a key role for them as a perimeter defender, cutter, and stretcher of opposing defenses. The only thing that worries me is the loss of IHart -- I think he was more valuable last season than many fans realize.

If they keep Hartenstein I think they win the East. NBA players always talk about how hard it is to go back to back after having that sense of accomplishment and just a little less drive to win. Meanwhile the Knicks are as hungry as it gets and built almost perfectly. They also just drafted Tyler Kolek. This is gonna get interesting but if I had to bet I’d honestly put my money on the Knicks to win the East. They almost made the ECF with players starting who will now be on their bench and that’s wild

We had daymeon Dotson and Kevin Knox on the roster lol. RJ Barrett was chucking 3s desperately and every team had 3 players shoulder checking randle every time he set foot in the paint cause our team couldn't hit the side of a barn with a buckshot. It was a very dark time. That was not the norm for Thibbs. We have a solid 8 man rotation of high quality players any contending team would want. It's night and day from those circumstances.

the Knicks won't run half court offense. Most of Mikal's numbers will come from the break, his defense and the tenacity of the Knicks D will cater to more points for him. The Knicks have 2 half court iso players already in Brunson and JR, so what they need from Bridges is: an on ball defender and for him using his length to interrupt passing lanes and to act as a motion cutter because you have to respect because he can slash to the basket and hit shots in the mid range. I see him being something like what Paul George is in his prime. What I do know, the Knicks bench depth will be un f$%king real.

Say what you want but them all staying healthy is the obvious if along with by in but. Jalen, Donte, Bridges, Randle, with Mitch and Stein in rotation is crazy. McBride earned more trust, still have Hart, and if they keep Burkes they have a really good team!

I feel like the Knicks should try to trade Randle, for some cap relief to resign IHart, and one more good piece.

I just hope they know what they doing cuz from day one I said what if he gets injured and he did and was unable to help us through the playoffs by no fault of his own which worries me meaning he injury prone he has been injured his whole career thus far spent seven years with the same team even get a championship but no max contract which meant they knew what they were doing when they dealt him and Knicks should have seen it but now all we can do is hope and maybe if Randle come back healthy it will take pressure off him but 42 mill per is crazy for a seven year player that's not an all-star he better be on that team this year then
