It’s unbelievable! Someone needs to write to these photographers to educate them. I watched something similar by two set on fake violinists in movies. Actors get away with a lot!

You should probably direct these photographers to beginner's flute tutorials on youtube. They can learn the correct finger positions in 10 minutes and how to put the flute together. Hopefully the embouchure too :)

A few months back I commissioned a cartoon artist to draw one of my characters playing the flute, I just told her to paint him playing a "transverse" flute, didn't really tell her what kind or how. She drew him and the flute perfectly hitting that E note, I gave her a nice tip on top of the commission price because she definitely did some research on how transverse flutes are held, unlike Stock photos' planning people

You can find stock photos where the picture is flipped horizontal all the time. I have seen them even in big magazines. I'm a graphic designer who played the flute so I see it with photos all the time. Violin on the wrong shoulder, tuba etc. As for musician models, these are just models. Maybe unpaid family members so they don't need a release. The point is the beautiful (or cute) person not the flute as if they are trying to play. I see images wrongly flipped all the time. Esp just faces of actors - they don't look the same in a flipped photo. Watch out with that movie clip, big copyright violation if you don't have permission. Can be a huge fine if they want. Esp since it seems you are showing the climax of the movie. Just saying.

Totally! A lot of flipped photos are around but even with these having both hands on one side of the flute is still a big no-no. So happy you like the video, thanks so much for watching! We always like knowing graphic designers too!
