QOTD: perhaps have a total stat product number for your team that is also taken into account when finding matches along with player ELO? Then Meta teams would be more likely to be paired against other Meta teams or players of higher rank running spicy teams with less overall stat product. High ELO players could run spicy teams with low stat product to be paired against players with less ELO.

Qotd a stat product rework. Attack being weighted twice as much as defense/stamina means unless they have an isnane moveset most attack weighted pokemon are unviable

QOTD: If you really wanted people to run more variety you could make it so a pokemon can only be used a certain number of times per day, say you can only use lantern for 5/25 battles a day. This would force people to use more different pokemon but would also make people need to build a lot more pokemon, and honestly would not be a popular change imo. But I think it would do the trick

Fixing the bug where on a cmp tie that you win your damage does not get taken off opponents Pokémon but since they go second their damage is reflected. Happened to me at least 4 times now.

QOTD: I would give people a real reason to do it. Now more wins means more rewards (elo, ranks, rare candies, even dust and seasonal research are winning dependent), so most people just use meta pokemon. Maybe some kind of task related to pvp would help. For example seasonal gbl research instead of winning 10 battles for each step could have tasks like "play 25 battles in one day without using any pokemon more than once", "play/win 10 battles using muk/absol/shiny rib", "play/win 25 battles with only grass/event/shiny/ultra beast/xxl/blue pokemon in team", "use 50 bug/poison/rock type charged attacks in gbl" etc. Goals could be even randomized for each player and as a final reward for completing all or given number of tasks we could have another avatar items, unique pikachu and pose. Probably dream which will never come true, but I would love to have something like this in the game.

GBL needs a mode that's free of ELO ranked play. A skirmish mode where players can practice, try out teams and their timing/counting skills without fear of cratering their ELO rating.

Qutd: I guess aligning fast and charge moves to eachother in terms of energy generation or damage output, there is a ton of mons that are just not viable because of the moves they have access to. I mean they do some alignments with each season but some moves have been terrible since forever

I'd say limit each pokemon to 5 uses a day, if people want to do all their sets they'll need to use a variety of teams, while still letting people use all the pokemon. Partial bans might work, but harder to implement. Letting people use 1 pokemon in the top 50 rankings for example, and all the others have to be ranked lower. Could also just poll the community, either for themes, or a ban list. It's been a long while since Niantic had a clue about GBL, maybe getting people involved who play it would help. Not gonna happen though, that would mean acknowledging the community exists lol

QOTD: An unranked game mode to allow for people to play/test as teams they would not normally play as, I also would like to see a change in the matchmaking. I would base the matchmaking similarly to WoW. In WoW arenas, if you win streak, your matchmaking rating will surpass your base rating. With that being said, if you are on an 9 win streak in WoW and lose one, you will lose less rating because you are playing above your current rating. Translating to Pokemon Go: You are at 1911 ELO, you go 5-0 and boom, you are 1990 or whatever it is, now, if you go 0-5 that next round, you take another huge hit.

Another thing is that you will earn 5x times more stardust on weekends in every 2 weeks.

Attack has more CP weight than hp and defense. Bulk is reliable and medium bulk or attack weighted teams have severely compromised stat products. Go battle league can be really boring when the easiest path to elo is basically just choosing the bulkiest team.

QOTD: I keep thinking one of the main problems of the GBL is the minute it takes for somebody to switch from one Pokémon to another after somebody made the first switch and that’s what a lot of times make some Pokémon less viable, specially those ones that have x4 weaknesses because they get farmed down. GBL is not made for common people to have fun and that sucks, because it is still constantly making you adapt to the aggressive meta and it gets boring right away. I think if they want to make some changes they should shorten the timer and to balance the movepool of those ones that are not viable because of its moves. Every season it is the same, and it’s annoying waiting for months wishing for something to change and nothing happens. This season Niantic added Psywave, an awful move which gives 2 of energy per use. That’s just idiotic, considering in the very same update they added sand attack, a very good move with moderate damage and very good energy generation. I don’t know, it’s like they make this gradually so they can ‘surprise us’ with a very few changes every three months. Even if they keep with the ‘mystery’ mechanic in which you don’t know your opponents team, if the timer is shorter you can try to burn the clock for not to get farmed down and still try to win a match. Since most of the times it’s just a rock, paper, scissor situation, it’s annoying to make the wrong choice and just lose. That’s why thinks like bastiodon, steelix, renta cruel or giratina are so annoying, they just farm you down if you make the wrong call. I don’t know, niantic should give us variety so we don’t keep seeing Vigoroth on every single cup all the time.

QOTD: They need to rework the way damage is calculated to account for attack being weighted more in the cp calculation. Bulky pokemon, which are generally less fun to play with and against, are objectively better than attack weighted pokemon. It makes for a worse game. Complete nonsense Bringing back the ability to throw multiple charge moves in a row without the opponent getting in fast moves would be amazing too. That was the best part of the game in the early seasons. Throwing off back to back moves with 1hp to win a game that looks lost was the best. Having fast moves sneak in on alignment is also a hidden nerf to glassy pokemon. For instance, alolan marowak used to be able to beat bastiodon but can’t get to a third move now because bastiodon gets 2 extra smackdowns in. It helps tanky pokemon because they are never on the cusp of being farmed down in neutral matchups in the two shield. It also helps ones with high damage fast moves. Again, the most boring pokemon to use and play against. Why niantic?!

Your team was originally shortlisted as I thought it was cool, but when narrowing it down I noticed your Shiftry was single moved. There wasn't much separating the teams that featured in both videos vs some that just barely missed out, but I made it clear that I was going to be more strict with people running single moved Pokémon, so I unfortunately had to axe your battle.

An exception where? Both vids are released, i spent a hour getting my submission and losing like 150 elo, get 2 catches and a 1hp farmdown with shadow honchkrow, not having double moved shiftry(sorry i dont have 50 rare candy) isnt a reason imo

It is very difficult to narrow it down to a set number of battles per video & unfortunately there are often very spicy teams that just barely miss out. Since I specifically mentioned that I was going to be much more strict when it came to submissions with single moved Pokémon, I took that into account when choosing other battles over yours.
