never understood why seat / saddle is so thin of all imported bikes. can understand for speed bikes but for touring and for generic hybrid bikes also have so thin saddle. old style indian or Dutch bikes r best with moti wali seat with spring.these days they give naked bikes and they sell spring, mudguards separately.

I keep my seat down so that it doesn't interfere while i pedal fast ,,, while pedaling fast your bike swings from side to side , if the seat is high it'll hit your inner hips ,, also it'll prevent you from pushing your body back while doing a downhill ,, which is not right

I prefer lower seat because it keeps Center of Gravity low and when pedalling more of your weight is on the pedals than the seat reducing moment of interia at the tire patch. All these help maintain grip on wet roads, poor tires and unknown road texture. Higher seat height though is beneficial for longer rides and better cycling posture

That is one point but do be careful because a lower cycle seat can subsequently cause you’re knees or thighs to ache because of the constant bending motion you have to use while cycling with a lower seat,
