This is marketing. For instance having Superman. You have one movie where he's rated R. You have a TV show geared towards teens. A cartoon geared towards 8 year olds. Then you have a comic book where Superman is bisexual and exploring his identity. But this is just plain poor brand management. Gender politics is way too confusing to be incorporated into a brand. I don't feel it necessary to identify as a man... I am a MAN. My wife doesn't identify as a woman... she is a WOMAN. Giving any credence to "identifying" is what supplies the ammunition for questioning biology itself. Yes... "Identity" is what created infinite pronouns... just like the ones that you just described.
