I have a pixie too and I cut it myself, but I have a 4c/4b hair. I will definitely try the wet line gel as my hair needs gel to tame. I also have to restart my hair from scratch everyday whiles styling, so glad you do the same cos I don’t wrap my hair neither, just can’t be bothered with scarfs, so I go for silky pillowcases.
