Do you have any tips on improvising using fast triplet runs?
@inperplex3 күн бұрын
i have a secret lol, the runs aren’t rlly improvised off the top of my head, the first one was a run i constructed myself, and the second one i transcribed. i think the trick is listening to ppl u wanna play like to get ideas, construct runs to have in ur back pocket, and master playing it cleanly with a metronome starting slow, then fast! thx for watching btw 🙏🏾

Hey what bass is that please?
@inperplex3 күн бұрын
it’s a ukulele bass or “u-bass”. the one i bought is from aklot though! if u wanna buy one i recommend from aklot or kala. i’m using rubber strings for that thick “plumpy?” sound, but it depends on what type of sound you want cuz u can use metal strings for a more sharper “bite?” sound

Do you have any tips for soloing?
@inperplex3 күн бұрын
yea fs, i’d say the biggest thing is using the notes of the chord, but playing inversions of it and chromatic notes to get to the chord notes, like what i did at 0:38 yk? the chord was a Gb major 9, and i was just playing the notes of the chord but i was tryna be creative with it. the second biggest thing for me is listening to ppl u wanna play like, and transcribing licks and lines u like to kinda have in ur back pocket. the fast sextuplet stuff i was playing wasn’t improvised, it was just a line i had in my backpocket like at 1:03. sorry that was kinda long but thanks for watching 🙏🏾

Okay, thanks! these are great! I’ll probably mess around, and find some artists to listen to and see what feels and sounds good. You sound great, keep up the good work!
