What might get missed here is that John is improvising everything, as he just found out he was playing 10 seconds before this starts

Jackson wrote this song when he was sixteen. Simply genius. Loved this song when I was a kid. I’m an old man now and always have a tear for this song.

That hit like a truck when I watched the special. Seeing Stamos and Ross in tears was rough. Beautiful song and as always, John Mayer elevates the track with his fills.

What special? If you tell me I missed something with Jackson on it I’ll cry. Seriously, what, where, when, and can I get it on dvd?
@s4mcote2 жыл бұрын
@@patriciamurray7600 It’s a tribute show for Bob Saget on Netflix. I believe it was filmed two weeks after he died. Some of his closest friends reunited and did a show together.

Loved how Seth commented on Jackson Browne fucking them all up. I’ve only seen him in movies didn’t know he was so funny

There are moments in history where the music speaks to the soul of humanity and stops time just for a second. This is one of those time in music history. Beautiful Moment... "Bob just liked a sad song" Thank you for posting this

I wasn't expecting this during the tribute - It really blew me away. John Mayer improvising on this and being so honoured to play with the great Jackson Brown was a truly special moment and a fitting tribute to their friend Bob Sagat. True magic.

One of the greatest songs ever! His close friends said Bob loved a sad song. I couldn't think of a better song. Jackson Browne and Jon Mayer are amazing musicians. That Netflix special broke my heart......

Absolutely Amazing - Watched the Bob Saget Tribute and when Jackson Browne said it seems appropriate for John Maher to join in we all saw and heard an epic performance. This was a Moment. Music in it's most raw form, two awesome artists playing from their heart and for the love of music and their lost friend. Epic

I watched this with my wife after we had just put our kids to bed, and we were speechless. A timeless song, and Mayer’s improv on the track was tasteful, not too flashy/showy. Fit the mood just right. Then I laughed when Seth Green came up after and said something like “great, I get to follow Jackson Browne playing the most beautiful thing I’ve ever heard”

Someone should do a proper recording of this and release in some platform. Along with other tunes of them both. I could listen to this all day.
@johndavidvanvalin2 жыл бұрын
I could too, but I think the beauty of this particular recording is the unique situation (memorial of Bob's life), setting (Live comedy and music with close friends of Bob's), and spontaneity (asking Mayer to play in the moment) of the performance. This is the Netflix recording, which isn't perfect, but still good. I think Jackson is even playing his acoustic through the same amp Mayer is using. You couldn't quite repeat this with better equipment.

Thank you so much for posting this. Listening this time without observing everyone in the room. Asked to accompany unrehearsed, perfection during all that was surely flooding John’s mind at the time and, somehow, didn’t burst into tears.
