@@DeLaxen Sounds like exaggeration ("touch" = "hit & kick")? I agree with J Shep. I was into modern behaviorism (& all positive) before it was popular. Did it for a decade. It's great stuff in its own right. it's how dolphins learn to do 5 somersaults (on command). But, by itself it doesn't work for all people, all dogs, all behaviors. It's not balanced. Instead, it becomes a religion. The principle becomes more important than the outcome. If there were something so vastly better than Cesar's way, where is everyone? Wouldn't *someone* want to be famous, and wealthy, and lead dog owners to immensely better ways with well-received multi-season tv series, and 2mil subscribers to their you tube channel? You know what I mean? If it's that bad, why hasn't *anyone* cashed in by now? At best there are tv series showing essentially the same results. Hardly a testament for discouraging someone the way you're doing. To the OP: look up Aesop's Fable about "the dog in the manger." That's often what the anti-Cesar crowd sounds like. Just pushing others down to feel better about themselves. Making things sound worse to make their point (that you should feel discouraged before you even start). It's really sad because the dog world is toxic this way. It thrives in shelters, rescues, etc.

@@DeLaxen says "It is from all the leaked videos from behind the scenes where he has been caught mishandling dogs... He has apologies for it himself as well" Do you have a reference for that? I searched and couldn't find anything, which seems odd when there's "all" the leaked videos. :) All I've ever seem are dogs at a high-level of frustration/intensity who are touched with enough energy/intensity that they can "hear" the message and snap out of it. There is a modern, politically-correct form of behavior-based training advocates of which routinely overstate these things. As mentioned previously, I was one. It doesn't work for some dogs. The advocates tend to insist that their way works for these dogs, but you rarely see it. It typically takes far more time than the average person has. Or, it just doesn't work at all (I know advocates who run down Cesar, but have dogs at home which they have to keep gated in seperate rooms because they can't control them with the behavioral theory.).

My best friend has blue crown. Conure, who goes everywhere with her (OK, not everywhere, not to work), including his favorite - beach time. He has his own ‘branch’ of the beach umbrella & more people on our beach, know him then they do me & I’ve lived there since 1997! When she is at home she walks her 2 Chihuahuas w her beautiful boy on her shoulder (he wears a harness w a 15 foot leash, but he’d never leave her shoulder). It’s the coolest thing, I’ve gotten used to it but I’ve seen so many people whose first reaction is always. “is that a real bird?”, to the point that it’s become rather funny. Just a little personal input after seeing this couple walk their 2 dogs & their beautiful bird.

Cesar, I watched this video three times in a row. Taught me so much about how to handle myself with my young horse (due to some uncomfortable and scary episodes I’ve become nervous and tense around her) and myself with people. Can’t wait to put it into practice with your words in my mind. You’re awesome 😎

Thank you Cesar. I got your book Cesar’s Way when it came out in 2006 when I bought my first Doberman. More than 15 years later adding 7 Dobermans to my pack, and we are the calmest dogs out there. Using your directions and energy, rules, boundaries and limitations. ❤️

Your videos bless many !!! Your videos are helping many women and Annie (golden doodle /golden Retriever) . Like you say to love respect and boundaries, discipline . I am a seventy year young women working hard to survive always in a healthy way . moving ahead with life’s struggles after a spouse dies . I am working hard to gain a happy survival being able to love and set boundaries to have a friendship with Annie . My thoughts are that every child should be taught this at a young age so that can build confidence of all the above . This would of avoided a lot of extreme struggles how people treat others all their life . Life skills !! Thank you for all your messages of building self esteem for me and and with others . Bless you

10:51 What Cesar says and has always said is that there has to be a psychology behind dealing with dogs. It cannot be just "I give him this and that and also give him affection".

Thank you so much. I have watched you from the beginning, I just tried this and after 1 .5 my adopted Shitzu went for a walk. I usually have to put him in his stroller which doesn't give him exercise. I worry about his health. After this video, I put the leash on as you said and we had the first walk together after a year and a half. My dog walker is going to be so happy, usually, Napolean puts the breaks on and then frog legs !! As a human that completely gets what energy is very real, I again thank you !!

It's crazy how everything you say can be applied to humans. Same problems, parents expressing love to kids in an inappropriate way / at the wrong moment, seeing discipline as punishment, kids / dogs becoming stressed and unable to be disciplined. That's real life lessons not just for dog owners

The sound Caesar uses to get a dog's attention and get them to stop focusing on other things is like a "Tschuh!" The one I use is like a "Deh-deh-deh!" His sound and mine both work on children, too. LOL
