.... depending. If you are in your teens and mid 20s, wear fashion nova. However, if you are in your late 20s above, choose elegant and classy styles which fashion nova do not offer. Hey! It’s your styles, your body, your image. At the end of the day, wear whatever you like but know that certain styles command more respect.

"Is it just an ok dress? Or is it a wow dress? If it's just ok, then simply don't buy it." Wise advice here ladies. I've made the mistake of buying items that were just "ok" and regretted it. It's a waste of money to buy "ok" items. It's much better to pass on those and save your money for the wow items!

Very true!! My favourite advice is buying a bunch of casual outfits during the sale period. Things such as normal tshirts, skirts, tops, cotton dresses etc that you would wear on a regular basis, most of these items will be available on sale even in good brands. This way you can buy more essential clothes at the same budget, and save more money to spend the WOW outfits.

Sequin detail even for daytime and career dresses were fashionable for a season or two in the early 2010’s. Most of it looked terrible and the trend didn’t last. I have one dress from that era, a simple, straight cut, long sleeve dark rayon knit, with a draped neckline and embroidered sequined detail on the shoulders. It’s not overdone or “gaudy.” I retired it to loungewear. It was marketed as a workplace/career dress but whenever I wore to work I was always overdressed.

I'm petite and curvy, I can't wear loose dresses like the ones you provided. The best types of dresses on my body shape are ones that show off my shape instead of eating my body up, therefore they tend to be bodycon or more structured dresses.
@BuilderBobda
@BuilderBobda 3 жыл бұрын
All the ones she suggested were tailored dress to the bodies. They were all figure flattering. In her other videos, she talks about how you want clothes that follow along the shape of your body and to not wear baggy clothing. She’s a fan of more structured dresses. I definitely suggest watching her video on how to dress for your shape since she might have more options that appeal to you. It may also explain her reasoning for why some styles of clothes are more elegant than others.

This video shook me! I went to a dance a few months ago and I was wearing a maxi green silk dress that was not formfitting at all. Everyone at the dance looked like they were going clubbing with extremely short mini dresses, I was worried that I was going to get negative attention as I was dressed way differently. To my surprise, everyone complimented me on my dress and how unique and elegant it was. I notice that whenever I wear something I feel is a little too classy or not something I feel anyone else would wear, I always get a lot of positive feedback and this is why!

Everyone's so shocked she's saying "to attract men" when she's always been open about being "that kind of channel" from the very beginning and she doesn't try to hide it. Specifically, attracting quality men from high society and embracing your femininity. Sure, you can dress well for yourself or for other women if you want, these are good tips for that kind of reasons too which is also why I watch it but I don't judge her for her reasons. Believe it or not, a lot of people actually think the same way she does especially the rich ones and I get that. Besides, you might not think or admit it but a lot of the times you dress to attract a mate too whatever gender you may be. Not everyone thinks "men are trash" you know.

Confidence is attractive, yes, but it's not going to make up for dressing badly....no amount of confidence can turn a man-repller dress into something nice looking. Plus people need to be aware of being over confident. There's a balance. Confident is sexy, in both men and women, but over-confidence is a complete turn off. A bit of vulnerability is attractive, in both men and women, not someone who is always confident about everything.

@@Julia-nl3gq Yes! This is so true. But also, energy is very important. If you have VERY classy energy...you might be able to pull those overly sexy dressed off...But I think that is like 99.9% of women 😅 And still, the balancing of it would be very hard. So...lets just not even try that.

I am definitly fond of your work. As for myself, I was raised in a French middle class family, by VERY strict, conservative parents. No yoga pants, no mini skirts, no high heels, no make up until 16/17yo. Basically....regular, basic white shirts, black/marine trousers. My clothes where never cheap but never expensive. This way, my personality showed off more than my curves, I was lucky to be thin, medium breasts; etc. And actually...this sobriety ( that I liked to improve with a few fancy jewels for instance) allowed me to meet a young, handsome Belgian baron, from an old aristocratic family. And this sobriety allowed be to be welcome and accepted in social upper classes that were not mine at the start. We've been happily married for 12 years now :) Ladies should understand that the less you show, the more you look confident + the more men want to discover about you. Obviously ! Or you can become rich and successful and dress how you want. I rather build my own empire and have my own money than dress a certain way to attract rich men. If he broke up with you, will you truly be doing well by yourself? Exactly. Never depend on anyone. It’s ok to love and trust others, but don’t depend completely on another person. It’s a stupid business move. When you are successful by yourself, you run the game and you can do more for others.

Elegance and a sense of mystery go hand in hand. When you display all of your physical attributes, no one looks further, and you have just diminished yourself. If you show just enough to pique interest, without putting your body on display, you have just let people know that you consider yourself more than your physical attributes, and they look further. That is when a man loves you for who you are, rather than what you look like.

I was just surfing on the internet, looking at clothes and thinking "would Anna wear this" when I got the notification LOL I would love a part 2 where you talk about other styles of clothing. For example, I'm into slightly cute styles (I usually experiment with colors, pastels and earthy tones, never with textures - I only wear natural, high-quality materials). They definitely don't look cheap or frumpy, but I'm not 100% sure if I'd call it elegant either... maybe casual? The problem is if I try to dress really elegantly (I'm talking about the cuts of the garments), you can really tell that's not really my style, it clashes with my personality and it just looks odd on me. So... how do you find a balance between considering your style & personality while still looking elegant?

I had the same mixed feelings. A little advice for young females reading this - don't change your style or your attitude for acceptance. Not for society and definitely not for a man. Being unique takes a lot more courage than fitting in by being bland. Also, this video ended badly. She finally showed us the "appropriate" dresses and they were absolutely hideous. All her dress picks looked surprisingly cheap!

Thank you, Anna, for this topic. I'm finding myself leaning towards wearing more dresses and skirts. They are more comfortable for me and I really like them. I have fallen back in love with pleated skirts and dresses so I was happy you featured one. My grandma always said that sequins and sparkles were for my dance costumes, not real life. Daresay she was right🤭 On a personal note. Many of us around the globe are dealing with this scray virus. A man in my state just passed away from it. Please keep safe and be careful everyone, don't dismiss it as nothing. The measures being taken are not for nothing. Listening and heeding warnings are attributes to being classy as well. All the best Anna to you and yours and everyone in this community💗🙏

My recommendation is to look through Blair Waldorf’s style from Gossip Girl. The series might be 10 years ago but their style is really timeless. Get some inspiration from Blair, Lily Van der Woodsen so you can adjust the style to your age & body shape. When I go dress shopping, I will either go Jenny - punk chic look or Blair/Lily - elegance with a touch of sensuality look. Same goes for the men, try achieving the Nate Archibald’s look if you want to present yourself as a grown business man & not a hipster writer

I am Persian and I do LOVE sequin dresses and nice ornamental embellishments and everything that is glamorous. It DEPENDS on the quality and the pattern of the embellishments. Embellishments and patterns are supposed to symbolize the heritage, creativity, femininity and and beauty. Certain flower combinations are symbolic and speak a subtle language. Also I love elegant peacock embellishments or Asian patterns.

@@tigana I think a lot of that would come down to fabric choices. Maintaining your personal style with interesting fabrics and design details that are well made. A monochromatic look (think all black or all red even) with highly detailed embroidery that can only be seen up close or mixing fabrics all in the same color can be artistic but elegant if the details are spare but impactful.

BerserkTheKid I expressed my opinion... I’m not saying that women cannot dress to please men, but I personally think it’s wrong. Doing something just to get people’s approval isn’t good for you. If it makes you happy, fine, but it usually doesn’t last long because you need to love yourself first. If you like your style, for example, you won’t care that much if someone doesn’t. After all it’s quite subjective. Again, this is my opinion, hope I didn’t offend anyone:/

These were my thoughts too! Nothing against women who want that, I just think that she's focusing a bit too much on one type of women and one type of men... And I even think, that only wanting to attract men can seem very cheep! I love a good classy look, but I think that personal preferences should be respected more! Like, what if I love my wide shoulders? Again, tastes are different and I don't think that there's only one kind of being "classy" and I personally don't think you should look like that to attract men... Even though I normally like most of her tips, I was a bit disappointet by some of her statements... (Sorry for this long paragraph ❤️) Just a bit more empowerment and variety please!!! 💋

When it comes to lingerie, wear what makes You feel beautiful. The loveliness and confidence it gives you is priceless. Just avoid the "tarty" pieces. This is for you, yourself. Personally, lovely silks and stretch lace pieces are a favorite. Buy a few special items and be prepared to give them special care (like hand washing). Avoid red and black combinations, or anything that looks like something a sex professional might wear; buy beautiful, feminine lingerie that makes you feel beautiful.

Yes girl! I had the honor of interning for a designer in NYC a couple of years back & it's crazy how almost every single style & every brand, as well, was made for women who are very thin! I just think that REAL women are not so skinny! We carry babies & our hips spread & we have a harder time keeping trim as we age! I have modeled for over a decade & I'm 5'11 220 lb & even in 2020, its amazing how hard it is for plus sized women! I doubt I'll ever be on a runway but if it is at the cost of being a stick figure? They can keep it! I love & embrace my curves & just got engaged to a wonderful man who loves my curves as well! Yes, be classy but confidence takes one a long way in any situation. Btw I was very fortunate to come from parents who afforded us the higher end lifestyle of the working class & have been to many places & in many situations & social circles...she is right about less being more. Yall be safe & protect yourselves in these trying times, ladies! Good day to ya!

@@ask9087 I really dont know, thought about making some videos myself but I'm not really hip to social media. Rather new to the workings of it all. & I'm not saying that there arent real women out there at all, who are thin. If I sounded condescending or like I refuse to believe they exist, I apologize. I'm not intentionally misrepresenting women with my comment..u just have to understand what I saw first hand. These girls would starve themselves, literally weighing their food before considering consuming it. It was extreme & difficult to watch. I've always struggled with my weight, but it's not even about that. Tbh it's all about loving oneself & having confidence, regardless if we consider ourselves too heavy or too thin. Being healthy first beyond the # on the scale. & doing things naturally, instead of what society has normalized. I was raised in the south, girl & unless a person has experienced the culture first hand, I cannot explain to u how hard it is to maintain a healthy weight, much less lose weight, if everyone in ur family is a great cook & raised u knowing how to feed ya husband lol esp if ya metabolism is slow, like mine! I used to weight almost 300lb & got down to as small as 190lb (again almost 6' tall).. I guess what I'm trying to say, is LOVE URSELF! Be kind to that girl u see in the mirror! Life is hard & the world is a cold place & ppl are only around for a season or a reason! Shes the best friend u will ever have! Take care, love. These are trying times we are in. @wordsculpt
@wordsculpt 4 жыл бұрын
A basic sheath dress is always appropriate. Think Audrey Hepburn, Doris Day, and Grace Kelly. These simple and elegant pieces are still available and de reguer. To make it formal enough for a special occasion you need only choose a lovely scarf, necklace, or other simple fashion accessory. You will look well dressed, sophisticated, and clearly not competing with the bride. The only other information you require is a single note about color, but it is very important: never wear white, Any shade of white! That color is reserved for the bride. Even worse is to wear black...the association with funerals is deeply embedded in our society; it is a Huge faux paus. And lastly, bright red is a "look at me!" color, and as we all know, strongly associated with sex. Go for a simple outfit, skip those 3 inappropriate colors, and you will be appropriately dressed. And, by the way, congratulations to you and yours!
