Beach Hut is absolutely fantastic. Green and earthy just the way I like them. Definitely not for everyone but a masterpiece nonetheless. But hey, I think Dior Farenheit is masterpiece.

Ormonde Jayne Montabaco Intensivo is my latest purchase. I'm so happy I grabbed it. I can't wait to get this into my spring rotation. It's stellar and unique.

Nice list! I just got Ormonde Jayne Montabaco Cuba and it's a floral citrusy version of Montabaco. As far as masterpieces, Amouage Jubilation XXV, YSL Tuxedo, Nishane Nefs, Dior Homme (all of em) to name a few

I’m on the same page as you with three if your selections really enjoy beach hut man. I feel it’s quite classy. Le Labo Tabac surprised me as well. I really enjoyed it. Montabacco is an incredible gentleman’s everyday fragrance. Ethereal. For me I’d as Roja enigma parfum, inito side effect, another 13, guerlain Angelique Noir, xerjoff richwood and pikovaya Dama, Profumum Roma Dulcis in Fundo and Roja diagalev.

Try Ormande Man from Ormande Jayne. Very masculine woody earthy scent profile. Mature gentleman scent. My girl loves it on me. Has that same airy effect that Intensivo has as well. Great list

Most times when a reviewer makes a list of masterpieces, I have gotten my nose on the majority of them. With these though, I am only familiar with Pacific Chill and Beach Hut Man...both of which I would consider masterpieces. I do think that most people gatekeep the term masterpiece on too many fragrances but I digress.

10/10 Frags? For me, there are 15: Naxos, Jubilation 40, Jubilation XXV, Dior Homme Parfum, Dior Homme Intense, BDC Parfum, The One Luminous Night, Nio, Vertus Vanilla Oud, Oud Wood, L'Homme Ideal Extreme, Elysium Parfum Pour Homme, Royal Oud, Grand Soir and Nasomatto Pardon. Edition Blanche and Tobacco Vanille, if they lasted just another hour or two, would be there as well.

Call me simple, but I can't get enough of Mercedez Benz Club Black and Dior Homme Parfum. Al Harimain Detour Noir would be my 3rd favorite. Love that burnt vanilla smell of club black, smells like lighter version of By the Fireplace.

Ursa is a great fragrance but i rarely reach for it. The bottle itself is a 10 out of 10 though. I agree, out of all the LVs, i thought Pacific Chill was the best. I like the green, perhaps it biased my rating of it, as i love the color emerald green in fragrance bottles. I rate pacific chill 8 out of 10. Vilhelm is a great house i love mango skin but due to the flat bottles i wouldn't be buying any of these. Doesnt fit aesthetically in my collection. Never smelled tabac from le labo. That house is a bit tricky to my nose. Beach hut is a masterpiece yes i agree. This is one frag that doesnt fit the amouage form for me. But yes 10 out of 10. This one can be used up real fast and is a second or third bottle worthy. Never smelled kemi. Xerjoff is a hit or miss house to me. Lot of misses though from that house. Chanel le lion is fine. For me, the exclusif line from chanel is a bit of emperor's clothing feeling to me. I want a bottle but when i really think about it, it's because it is a highly respected house and most true frag connoisseurs have a few. I tried to love le lion and all the others, but at end of the day, the house is just a meh to a respect like from me for all the frags.

Is there a difference between montabaco and montabaco intensivo? They have the exact same note breakdown. I've smelled intensivo and love it but curious about the original

I’d say they put me in a similar mindset in terms of combining fresh and green notes, but they don’t smell alike.

I gotta ask. Did you watch the intro to the video where I stated what criteria I’m using to qualify these as masterpieces? I’m pretty sure I didn’t say it has anything to do with whether I’ve put a dent in the bottle or not. Also, I’ve got a lot of fragrances that I put into rotation, which includes new additions that I have to wear to be able to talk about them in videos. Very few of my bottles are going to have large dents in them as a result.

I did, and it makes zero sense unfortunately. You cannot honestly call something a masterpiece and have only worn it once. You literally do not know the fragrance enough to make that determination. So really, what you are doing is calling something a masterpiece from a perspective of minimal experience which seems a little dishonest. There is nothing wrong with trying out different scents and having a rotation, but to call them 10s after spraying them twice is silly. So maybe the message should have been around 10 fragrances you're getting to know and are really enjoying so far, as an example.@@thefragrancewell

I get your view point, but I disagree. That’s your opinion on what you need to call something a masterpiece. I believe if you have a strong understanding of what you like in a fragrance, which I do, you don’t have to wear it a ton of times to know where it stands in your collection. I assume you’re talking about Morning Chess. I may have only given it a full wear a couple times, but that doesn’t include the times I’ve tested it at home, which I don’t count as full wears. So no, I didn’t spray it twice and think it was a masterpiece. Also this fragrance is fairly linear so it doesn’t take long to understand what it offers.

Agree with you on most of your picks except Bani that I don't know. Would recommend Royal Elixir over Montabaco from the house of Ormonde Jayne.
