21 days ago a fan sent us 5 ayam cemani fertile chicken eggs and also 5 fertile cream legbar hatching eggs and this week, in the forced air incubator, three ayam cemani solid black chickens hatched and four of the blue egg laying cream legbar chicks hatched. Plus 5 of the red golden pheasants hatched as well. We are super excited about the ayam cemani chicks, and they are really super cool looking in person. One does had a little white spot on it's chest but this is not uncommon on chicks and should disappear and the true color of these rare chickens should come on out, which is that deep beautiful solid black color of the feathers and beak and feet and even the eyes. So a big shout out to the Isbell family for the rare hatching eggs and also to Amber and Ben for the gorgeous red golden pheasant hatching eggs. We thank y'all so much and cannot wait to introduce these amazing rare poultry to our existing flock of birds here on our homestead.

Roasted Sungold Pasta Recipe:
Ingredients:
7 Cups of Cherry Tomatoes(Halved) We used Sungolds, but any cherry tomato will work
4 Cloves of Minced Garlic
4 Tablespoons of Olive Oil
2 Tablespoons of Balsamic Vinegar
1/2 Teaspoon of Dried Basil or 1 Teaspoon of Fresh Chopped Basil
1/2 Teaspoon of Dried Oregano or 1 Teaspoon of Fresh Chopped Oregano
2 Sprigs of Fresh Thyme (May be omitted)
1 Teaspoon of Salt (May need to add more, so season to taste)
1 Teaspoon of Fresh Cracked Pepper
1lb of Your Favorite Pasta
Top With:
1/4 Cup of Fresh Sliced Basil
1/3 Cup of Fresh Parmesan Cheese
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 450F.
Mix all of the ingredients together except the pasta
Spread everything out on a baking sheet
Roast for 15 minutes on 450F, & then broil for a minute or two. Just enough so it gets a tad charred for a little extra flavor.
While your tomatoes are roasting, go ahead & cook your pasta in salted boiling water, per your package instruction. Once cooked, drain the pasta, but do not rinse.
Place pasta in a large bowl & add one to two tablespoons of pasta water.
Remove the thyme sprigs & add the roasted tomatoes & all the pan drippings & juices to the pasta & toss it all together
Serve & top each dish with fresh sliced basil & Parmesan cheese.

We planted an acre of the same cover as you, Jason, about 3 weeks ago. We raise Barbados Blackbelly Sheep and we graze them and rehome them to other grazers. They are typically known to be the best tasting meat sheep. They are beautiful and don't look like typical sheep at all. More like deer cross with goat. They will graze the Sudan grass after its 18 inches high. We just finished lambing and have 6 new babies running around like Tip.😊 Love watching all of your critters. Thanks for sharong6❤

i came here out of respect to AC/DC. I had seen this, but didn't realize that one of those black chicks was AC/DC. It's hard to remember when I started watching Cog Hill on a regular basis. I've gone back to watch earlier videos that seemed interesting, but hasn't always put the puzzle pieces together. So, recently I've been watching in order from beginning, and it's quite interesting to watch the history unfold, even though they're not at little Cog Hill anymore. One particular thing that just makes me chuckle & my heart sing - - is watching young Nugget. What a sweetheart! What a personality! I doubt that many will read beyond "read more" -- so I'll go ahead and add this. I highly recommend watching the playlist of building the new coop. Besides being wonderful to watch on it's own merits, it fills in a lot of details about the animals, the people, & history of Cog Hill. Great stuff! :o) Love you guys!

between the ayam cemanis and the silkies you got yourself a nice little black-boned flock(i think the silkies have almost shiny black bones, and ayam cemanis have kinda a dark grey color bones). that's pretty awesome. they are quite special looking.... although JP's still the cutest.

I am trying to grow peanuts in tubs this year. One thing I learned about them is that they are nitrogen fixers. So, if you are ever wanting something fun to grow that will put good amounts of nitrogen in your soil. Mix in a bunch of peat moss at your garden area because they need loose soil and plant ya some peanuts. 😉

You know how to check the ligaments on your pregnant goat? When I start seeing some discharge from the volva I start checking those ligaments. You can look how too on line. Basically feels like pencils from the tail to the rump. When those ligament can’t be found you got anytime to about 12 hours before delivery.

🌻🌻🌻. SO beautiful when sunflowers bloom and ya can sit and watch the heads follow the sun then bow at sunset. My mammoth is 7ft with a 15” head still forming more seeds. Almost too heavy but it STILL follows the sun majestically. MC what do you do with all your gorgeous flowers 💐? I dry and also press them then store them in airtight sleeves and/or sand until I’ve come up with a design. I’ll create beautiful framed pictures to hang and sell mixed with sketches using mixed mediums. I bet with all your talent and your mom too you’d make gorgeous keepsakes. Even packages of note cards to give as gifts decorated in pen and inks. I love how I give a fragile flower or even a rose 🌹 a long lasting life instead of just putting in a vase. But don’t let Nugget help cus she may have her own designs......might shred them up instead 😅😂🤣. I saw those all black chickens years ago at the fair back when you’d have to rob a bank to afford them. Sure gathered a crowd back then. Your collection of gorgeous animals is like in a museum.....so beautiful to look at for a long time. Only thing I missed today was a walk through your Hydrangeas garden. My pee wee Hydrangea trees have blooms cascading down like waterfalls. Love what your doing with veg garden......feeding the soil again and just before a rain 🌧. My favorite time working in the rain. Truly loved today’s video and Peaches giving her approval ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️😘😘😘😘
