The last song (or rather Mario) is inspired by an M64 Horror Mod where you keep starting M64, going into Peach's Castle which is very empty and where you keep going into Bob-omb's Battlefield (the only painting). Inside, the only mission is always to get the star on the tower. Once you collect it, the game crashes and you have to restart it. The creepy part? Again and again when you do exactly that, a part of the world "disappears" like the water in the starting area or the bombs in the painting. Plus, Bob-omb's Battlefield is getting creepier too. The last time, the player's vision is completely blocked. You slowly walk up the hill until suddenly the music starts playing, as if you were starting a race against the Koopa. A timer starts. You run to the top as fast as you can but there is no star at the top. When the timer runs out, you hear a hissing sound coming from that very pixelated Mario. You can't run away from him. If he catches one the game crashes again. When you start it again everything is normal... only Mario is gone and the message pops up: "Everything is better without you". I hope I was able to enlighten you. sm64.z64 is the name of the hack.

the error pop-up means the secondary exe file that's meant to play during the song doesn't work. what it does is melt your screen but keep the gameplay intact. meaning you've unfortunately become one of the 50% of players who couldn't get the full experience.
