I have a similar story, though not EXACTLY of being related.... this girl and I in 6th grade hated each other and fought so much that we even got the other girls in the class to pick sides lol. One day we got in trouble for disrupting class and had to stay after school. Our moms came to pick us up and they felt they recognized one another and could not place it. Eventually they realized that over 30yrs ago in Jamaica, that girls mom was my older aunt Saundra"s(I'm her namesake) best friend(they were part of a group of older girls in the neighborhood) and her step mother was my mother's 3rd grade teacher! Somehow 30yrs and another country later they reunited because their daughters hated each other lol The girl and I became really close friends after that and her mom was truly heartbroken at my mother's funeral 8yrs later

I had a teacher in 10th grade that my older sister had had as well and he happened to share our Mom's maiden name. I had him for the whole year, while she only had him for about half a year (to clean up the mess a former teacher who couldn't teach made). We noticed a lot of similarities, like he looked a lot like our uncle when he was younger (even the haircut seemed similar) and my grandparents even said that he they seemed a lot alike, hell even their personalities were almost identical from how they acted to their love of superheroes to how they can remember different facts on stuff they were interested in down to almost the smallest detail. It was like having my uncle for a teacher. (Which is why when almost every student I talked to who had him, or sometimes if they had met him somehow, ended having crushes on him, I was backing out of those conversations like "nope, I'm having absolutely no part in this, please stop".) I found out his family was from an area where some of my Mom's family also lived. It wasn't until the that summer after school was over did he talk with my dad for a bit, and my dad who did genealogy his whole life as a hobby was able to figure out that our teacher was actually our cousin and his part of the family just branched off and separated themselves from our's (which honestly, that side of the family can be a mess so I can't really blame them). And at graduation, even though he already moved on with jobs, he wanted to congratulate everyone, we just sorta shared eye contact for a moment, nodded, and went on our separate ways. I think my parents invited him to a few things, but he didn't show up, but I get it. 🤷🏻 // The next year, my dad looked at my new history teacher's name and started to say how he might be related to us too and I was just like "please, no". Senior year I found out that another student became related to me through marriage, but the story of how it happened is pretty sad and scarred our school, but yeah. I rather just leave that one be for what it is. Anyways my dad also found out that our neighbors/family friends were also distantly related to us before all of this.

I met Monica and we became friends instantly. We talked and talked and talked and talked and one day after 3 years we found out I was a new kid on the Block and she was the little girl that lived one house away from ours. Monica's family moved out two weeks after we moved there. Within the two weeks time, Monica and I were inseparable. This was over 40 years ago folks. When we connected our stories on "where did you grow up?", we were so ecstatic that you could have heard us clear on the other side of the Earth.
