My top pics would be Secret of Mana (especially because the other remake was awful), Xenogears and The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. Actually Lufia 2: Rise of the Sinestrals definitely deserves some love.

Agree with these, I'd love to see lufia 2+1, kinda like they are doing with DQ3, then 2 and 1.

I know they just put out a remake of Romancing SaGa 2 and based on the demo it seems fantastic but I really would have preferred the HD-2D look to what they ended up going with. also you mentioned FFT but I feel like FFTA and FFTA2 just fit the HD-2D vibe so so well, now that I think about it.

Golden Sun would be amazing in that style, honestly it was made for it. Fire Emblem I’d be interested in seeing, especially if they add an “casual” mode for those older games which are notoriously punishing. Gonna have to hard disagree on Chrono Trigger though. The game already has a beautiful visual style and I don’t think HD-2D would actually add anything to it. If I see that game get remade, I’d rather see them go all in on a ff7 remake/rebirth style which would at least make it something fresh.

You know what would be even more amazing? If I could play something that's just a really good port of the SNES Final Fantasies outside of the SNES The SNES pixel remasters both play and sound like someone who look down on them, especially with "updated graphics." I am so sick of these constant bad remasters. And that's what they are btw, really bad remasters, not remakes.
