Chester Bennington was the lead vocalist for Linkin Park. I remember when I heard he passed away, it hit me like a ton of bricks
@IceMetalPunk3 жыл бұрын
I never thought I could feel such despair for someone I never knew until Chester died. I burst into tears when I found out, was honestly a bit dazed for a few days, and it took me about a year before I could listen to LP music again without crying. He was such a huge part of my life growing up, and even as an adult, that I felt the loss like a Chester-shaped hole filled with nothing but void. May he rest now in the peace he could never quite find in life. In other news, bots are responding to each other now? Anyone who makes these bots deserves to burn in a special circle of hell.

Linkin Park has been my favorite band since they first came out. Ripped my heart out when Chester passed. He is the lead singer. I'm still not really over it. Mike Shinoda is the rapper. He plays a ton instruments and with Chester, wrote all of their music. They all so talented. Chester was a legend. They are even better if you watch them live. Faint-Rock am Ring live 2007 Crawling Numb Papercut New Divide Breaking the Habit From the Inside Waiting for the End So many more. To me, they don't have any bad songs. RIP Chester. Miss you.

Many people say Chester could sing like an angel and scream like a demon and I always used to wonder how he always sounded so deeply emotional, even tortured in his delivery. Sadly we now know why. Undeniably the best singer of his genre, arguably the best singer his genre has ever seen, successful in his trade beyond his wildest dreams with adoring fans around the globe, loving & loved husband and father, champion of charity work and helping others. We can only hope and prey that he has found the peace that seemed to elude him in life. RIP Chester

I never really get upset over celebrity deaths; anyone passing away is sad, but I rarely get emotional over the death of someone I never really knew. Chester's death truly hurt. I remember seeing the news as it broke and feeling utter disbelief and heartbreak. He was the voice of a generation, such a unique voice and I know his words (whether he wrote them or not) helped an awful lot of people through tough times... I think part of what made his death so devastating was the fact it was self inflicted; he helped so many people but he couldn't help himself. Linkin Park really did have a way of connecting to just about anybody, and Chester embodied that. He was and always will be dearly missed by millions :(
@Ariel_thenotsolittlemermaid3 жыл бұрын
Yes, Chester was the singer. He was 41 at the time of his passing in 2017, left behind a wife and 6 children. He has suffered from depression ever since he was a child, and sadly it got the best of him. He was an amazing singer (this is nothing compared to some other things he did. Check out Given Up if you want to hear his demonic scream, their cover of Rolling In The Deep if you want some soft, amazing tunes), one of the best in the history of rock! And while I didn't know him personally, from videos I've seen of him and stories his friends, family and people he has worked with it sounds like he was an amazing guy as well... what a loss. May he rest in peace.

So glad yall came back to LP. Linkin Park songs emotionally speak what Chester was going through, which in the end, defeated him. The power of his voice and lyrics come from a deep place in Chester. Its so sad that so much pain was the reason for such beautiful art. On a lighter note, Mike Shinoda, the other vocalist has a few of his own projects including an awsome rap project Fort Minor worth checking out.

Linkin Park mixed rock and rap so smoothly and connected with millions of fan’s all over the world! RIP Chester Bennington, he was a beautiful soul, I read a comment once that someone posted and it rings so true about Chester, One man saved millions but millions couldn’t save one man! His voice and his authentic soul touched us all! Yes, Chester is the one singing! I recommend the official video for there song Crawling, it’s a banger and the first song I heard by them and stop where I was and was like who is this, the original is hard going and powerful! Than react to a video Linkin Park live(One More Light) Crawling it’s a live version of that song with Chester singing in the crowd close to his fan’s, slowed down and Mike on just the piano with thousands of fans completely connected with Chester and Chester with the fan’s, you hear the emotion is raw in his voice it will make you have goosebumps, it makes me emotional every time! You’ll thank me later! I highly, highly recommended watching the original video first than the slow raw emotion footage from the concert, just so good!

Great reaction Shawn and Mel! Mel, you've got a great voice! Do you sing in a band? Linkin Park was in a genre called Nu Metal. Their aim was to combine Hip-Hop/Rap with hard rock/Metal. As a matter of fact, I believe that Mike Shinoda, the rapper, has his own Hip Hop group apart from Linkin Park. In my opinion, this song may be one of the finest written and performed!
