These Guys RULED Hanover, Pa In The 60s With This 1934 Ford Coupe!!

One of the best parts of owning an old hot rod is tracking down it's history and previous owners. Matt was able to do so with the 32 Coupe and 34 Tudor he purchased from the Schroll estate. Today we are going to meet one of the owners of the 34 coupe and his good friend that helped keep the car legal and on the road! Learning all the little changes and modifications they made to the car over the years of ownership was amazing! We really enjoyed talking to Bob and George, and even the new owner was able to talk to them and get some more information about the history. We hope to do an update on the 34 as the new owner gets to work!!1 Thanks for watching!!!

He just bought a gold mine on wheels!! There's a new evolving market and collectors that are paying a premium for documented original surviving street rods from the late 40s through the 1960s. The pictures and proven provenance are as valuable as the car. Amazing find my friend. Well done.

Hanover pa is my neck of the woods. My dad used to terrorize the streets in the 60s and 70s. He used to race us 30 in his 66 chevelle. I love listening to his and his friends stories of back in the day. Thanks for the great videos Matt!

The body welded to the chassis with those big meaty stick welds is so much part of this old Hot Rod Henry it would be well worth keeping that for originality. I've rebuilt a lot of 32 chassis over the years that were considered junk by others, that's what they make welders for!

I grew up in NZ and when i was at school there were a lot of channelled cars running about .A lot more than most folks would realise today .Some survived the first WOF season then became a stock car racer or parted out for a better version. By the 70's we were starting to gather up a lot of them to build into street rods and in one or two cases actually restoring them back to stock. A bunch of us went to Horopito Motors around 75 to collect a 32 chassis from Bill Cole ...for $150 . my mate bitched because it had rust around the front spring perch. 😁😁

My great uncle grew up there. I live in Philadelphia, and he had a 1948 business coupe he hot rodded. I'm sure he encountered them, he was around the same time, also in the 50's. I'm saving up fro an old 30's or 40's car to hot rod myself. I've been working really hard, i get my license next year.

I like how the new owner is very young but is wanting to fit an Olds!. I'd do that too with the tri carb etc etc. BTW there is a world wide shortage of suitable plexiglass. Especially if you want quality tinted stuff.

Slightly off topic: Please help my memory? Early 60s, I recall my trips to Hanover from Southern York County there was a Candy Apple '40 Ford coupe, a blue '29 Ford roadster pick-up and a custom car cruising the streets/drive-ins. Do you know the owner's names and what was their 3rd car? On topic: An Olds, a Y block and 289 Hi-Pro, it doesn't get any better. I always liked the OEM '65 Mustang shifter with the reverse lockout. The Hi-Pro cast iron headers were a work of art. Bill Holtz with the Gurnsey Barn car shows, York's Ammon Smith car shows, the Lincoln Drive In movie..... great memories! Push Truck

I myself would keep it Ford powered. 289 Hipo's are screamers. No GM junk in my Fords. Flatheads, Y Blocks, small block Fords are the way to go. It's nice hear the original owner talking Ford power. I come from a Ford family back ground . Grampa , Dad , Uncle owned many different Fords. Eat sleep and dream about Ford power.

Yes it is, my 36 pu started with the flathead, then a Y-block then a 390 Fe and then a 427 FE. It was all kinds of fun
