Your speech during comment period was very powerful. I don't drag race but I grew up around cars and drag racing because of my father and uncle and I have to say I agree with everything you said. It's the same here in Ohio they shut down tracks like there ain't no tomorrow because they want to put housing developments. There was a drag track in Trumbull County Ohio and Howland Township And I remember before my father passed he always talked about it while my sister and her husband found old video from like the '50s of this drag race track and had it the film put on the VHS and my dad used to watch it all the time till he passed in 1999. Even he said they close that track down for no reason other than to put little stores and homes. I live in a small town called Fowler and have about 70 acres of land we shoot guns on our property never had an issue until the last couple years when the neighbors noticed we shot guns all the time they start shooting guns and then other neighbors started complaining which Is the new neighbors.

The shut down my track due to noise, because they surrounded it with houses. I've personally seen several major street racing accidents in my area since which never was the case before. It's not just about shutting down businesses, it's paying with blood to shut venues down like this and it's not worth the cost.

The developer wants to build houses next to the racetrack. Not like anyone from the development company will live in those houses. They will sell the houses in the hopes that the buyers don't realize there is a racetrack not far away. Then the issues arise for the homeowners , the county, and Cleet, while the developers count their money. It has happened in many other places before. It hurts the tracks, the homeowners, and the people who want to race/see races legally and safely. Not to mention the police force, other locals not interested in racing, etc will have to deal with a large portion of people opting to race on public streets since they don't have a track anymore.

Used to live 4 miles from a track before it got shut down. doesn't matter how far I lived or how high the fencing was, you could always hear the track even with main highways and city noise. Loved every bit of it...trying to distinguish what type of 4cyl, v8s or bikes are ripping from that distance, hearing the sprint cars ripping, the jet cars and crazy semis and diesel truck ..good ole days

Superchargers are definitely ideal for your boat Cleet, get a water/air intercooler and either spin the charger faster or get a slightly bigger one. You really want that instant power for jumps. Even a very small amount of turbo lag I'll bet will annoy you.

Happened in my town. It's intentional. The developers know they can build and then add value to their new property when the track dies as a result of their actions. Then they can swoop in and buy the parcel the track was on, too - usually for pretty cheap. The days are numbered for people like us. The future is for controllable human drones.

I come from Wisconsin, a place that has some of the greatest and richest history of short track racing in the country. Here we have had many examples over the years of the exact scenario happening where homes are built too close to a racetrack, new homeowners move too close to the track and have no idea what they have signed up for, they then complain to the county, and the track gets shut down. Not only is this a significant threat to hobbyists, it's also a threat to professionals like myself who make a living at these tracks as well as the owners and the fans alike. The Freedom Factory owned by Garrett Mitchell is one of, if not the best and liveliest short tracks in the country at the time of this proposal. Building nearby would be a spot-on death row for this track like many examples before it. The Freedom Factory has been a young enthusiasts dream in hosting modern racing events and by building residential nearby, you're stomping on the dreams of millions of racing enthusiasts not only across the country, but in countries across the world that desire to visit this track someday.

Cleet, if the city goes through with it, offer season passes to anyone who buys near the track to attract enthusiast. If everyone around you is a racer or fan you'll have the insulation of car guys protecting you from the Karen's and their voice will drown them out at HOA meeting's.

I would sue immediately if they approve to build these homes. They're killing his business when they're aware they are building homes where people will complain. Thus causing both track owner and home owners to be unhappy. They're setting everyone up for failure and their goal is to move people in so they complain about the sound so cleet goes out of business and they can stop the freedom, buy the land for cheap and pretend the freedom factory never existed because murderers pretend they didn't kill anyone. So just like murderers, this developer and government will kill cleetus business through low IQ land development strategy. They'd be better off building warehousing or leaving it as farmable land. Not building properties where people have to sleep. They can see these problems and they're aware they exist and they want a wall or a berm as if that's going to make a difference. So if they go through with it and it hinders cleetus business if i was cleet I would sue the people making noise complaints, the developers, and then government for conspiring to drive his business to failure even when they're well aware what they're doing is going to cause problems. Where I live they don't put the business zoning right next to the residential zoning for a clear obvious reason. Businesses are often loud. That's why you're supposed to have separation between businesses and neighborhoods. It's the sole point of zoning it seems like these people next to the freedom factory aren't understanding. Residential zoning shouldn't be right next to loud businesses that existed already. there's better places to build homes where it won't negatively affect everyone involved except the people getting paid to build who face none of the consequences for building houses right next to race tracks. You don't put open gun ranges right on the border of quiet neighborhoods. That's bad zoning. if the gun range was there first they have the advantage. If the neighborhood existed first, the gun range has to find a better spot to build. Should be that simple. A gun range is just like a racetrack. Very loud, shouldn't be allowed to build homes too close because it destroys the business and lowers the quality of life in the homes also, and visa versa. If hikes existed already you shouldn't be allowed to build an open gun range so close they complain. So it's a lose lose for everyone except the developers who just make their money and leave without caring about of the problems they created. seems to be what's happening to me.
