Good location is crucial. I'd say move that 1 apiary to a new spot, sugar ain't cheap . You guys are a great team! I've been watching your channel for the last 3 years, I like how you evolve.. For a while there you were all about treatment free beekeeping, I was too 😂 Now I treat with OA vapor and in the fall I feed syrup with a good amount of tea tree and peppermint oil, I noticed a significant mite drop just from feeding with essential oils.

Camera wise I would ask Black Mountain Honey, also on YT. You won't regret his advice. Easy to contact also. Keep on rockin! :)

Are you guys planning on using sugar in the winter? Or they're gonna ride it out on their honey reserves?

Bee venom is healthy for ya, good for the immune system, inflammation, and pain. I sting myself regularly for my back pain, it works 100% of the time.. I like to do it regularly so I'm immune to the stings, I took a year and a half break from Bee stings and when they got me on my hand during honey harvest, my hand swelled up like a balloon.

Does your friend use 5 frame hives instead of 10 frames? Did you ever use Russian honey Bees?
@beefitbeekeeping2 ай бұрын
This is one of our breeding yards so almost everything that’s in a breeding yard is in a 5 frame, all production hives are 10 frames. We have suspected that our breeder queen Viplidoo has some Russian genetics in her just comparing her to Russian hives we have seen, but she started out as an Italian and Kasey kept breeding her line up to what it is now.

@@beefitbeekeeping Are your queens mite resistant?
@beefitbeekeepingАй бұрын
@@richardlearning3452all of the hives in our breeding yard are treatment free, but our production yards we do treat just bc of what we are doing management wise to produce more honey. So yes they are resistant, we don’t have to treat as frequently has some bigger operations do but your management style determines it all.
