The no limit vehicles are soapbox cars. Very cool. Something we did as a kid. Made small cars that worked by gravity. Very nostalgic.
@dannyl-p15434 сағат бұрын
@13:05 a bit of a weird argument... Let's remember that lego bags and boxes are meant to be opened... also both those polypabs have been out for a while and can be bought for 5 dollars...
@Bricksie4 сағат бұрын
It's horrible for retailers. Presentiability and shelf life will be limited. All it takes is one kid to crush a paper bag. Folded, crushed, dog ear corners, etc. Plus, they are harder to keep mint in storage. Polybags could be crunched into a ball, and the packaging would still maintain its integrity.
@zombiestriker3 сағат бұрын
Not only is a weird argument, the followup clearly shows who would actually be affected by damaged paper bags - People like Bricksie who buy legos not to enjoy them, but resell them for exorbitant prices. A consumer who will cut open the bag and put it in the trash to play with actual LEGOs do not care about the box/bag/paper. Not even the store itself will care about it, as lego products sell pretty easily, and they do not want to hold on to this stock for a long time. The only people who care about it are those who try to squeeze AFOL for as much money as they can by reselling these sets in 2 years.

@zombiestriker right... I don't buy "legos" to enjoy them... good one.

@@Bricksie Okay, my initial reasoning and memories must be wrong. My mistake. I mean, The Hulk Buster set that came out two years ago in 2022, that I distinctly remember you showing off in your closet in the basement last christmas, and that it had the hulkerbuster in it along with a bunch of other unopened, old lego sets. I may be just misremembering video evidence from a longtime viewer. I also distinctly remember a video from 13 days ago, where someone else made the same criticism about your brand, and you then went on to explain lego "float" that you buy, only to inevitably sell for profit, only to use that money to again buy legos to not build, and then sell them for profit, and on and on. Surely that video does not exist. You also surely have no video dating back to 2017 describing how you buy legos, don't build the kits, and sell them for profit. ------ Dude, I get it. The New York Times article talking about LEGO as an investment was huge for lego. A lot of people do it. Its okay for you to do it. Just own up to the fact you do it, and that the average consumer does not care about it, but it is bad for lego investors like yourself.

@foreverfornever11243 сағат бұрын
In case youre not aware, Lego seems to be really hammering the vehicles across many themes next year. I think a lot of that has to do with the F1 partnership. So far many of these would look fantastic in the city. I really love the detail and added accesories on many of those minifigs. I think you could incoporate that mini 4+ firetruck and rescue ambulance in the country side. Maybe add a little fire/rescue/sheriff's station.

Your opinion on the polybags is not a nitpick that is a very valid concern I to think that they made a mistake doing that.

Hi Bricksie. Thank you for the reveal for 1/1/2025. Some lovely little sets there. The soapbox racers are delightful, and could add a nice story for the ramp. The trucks are super too, especially the camper van. I do think the scrapyard crusher is another potential story for your City. A lovely selection.

I don’t think the scrap yard set should be put aside lightly, it should be thrown with great force. 😂 With space at a premium in Lego cities and so many beautiful building designs, I can’t see why a scrap yard would be desirable. I see construction sites and this to be only a place holder at best in a city. Too many good looking sets for these types of sets in a Lego city. Jordan has more space than anyone but can still fill it up with nicer builds than these. Kids may enjoy scrapyard as a play set. To each their own , I suppose.

The Lego city vehicles look really cool, hopefully I will be getting them all to go with the other food trucks that I have. Prices in the UK usually come down after a few months, so will wait for then. Yes prices are in the up, but how many toys build their value like Lego, and provide such a lifetime of playability?

I think the only one I have interest in is DaVinci's Flying Machine. It's simple and affordable....that and another shelf for my TV/Pop Culture/Movie sets like The Office, Seinfeld and Central Perk but my primary priority now that I have space is still the Avengers Tower for my superhero city. Weirdly enough, I've still only gotten plastic bags and have never gotten the paper bags in my sets I've found. Great haul you got from LEGO themselves too.

17 out of 17 sets are vehicles. They should have called the line Lego Motorized. In a world were they try to reduce their carbon footprint with paper bags, sure they don't care about children playing with motorized vehicles all day. They only set were there is not a motor is the one where they mimic adult cars... I would be glad to see public transport and ecological ways of moving more... But yeah, I guess it's always and will always be like that with Lego.
@jimbear624 сағат бұрын
This just my opinion but , I feel the paper bags would make it easier for shoplifters to open them and steal the set
