I'll just say Reze Arc is the reason there was so much hype for Chainsaw Man anime adaptation. This _does_ take place directly after the events of Season 1 so the film is canon. Reze appeared briefly after the credits of the last episode.

@@AlessaParker Having your favorite manga picked up by MAPPA has it's pros and cons. I'm sure the animation won't be too bad, but I already know we won't being seeing Quanxi till maybe 2030. Mappa just has too many projects to release another season of a show 2-3 years after the release of the previous one. JJK is the only exception as that show is Mappa's baby.

Even then, we only got introduced to the actual "squad" in episode 11 and they each only got a few lines of dialogue. 7:37 This movie is of an arc which is right where the anime left off . The last episode of season 1 , last seconds , teased the new girl . To give you a small recap , at the end of season one , Katana Man and his gang mostly were killed/defeated and we got introduced to new people , Shark Fiend , Violence Fiend , Spider Fiend and Angel Devil . The goal was to collect bullet chunks of Gun Devil enough to make the peace they have move towards Gun Devil's location to find where it is and the goal was achieved and we were ready to hunt down the Gun Devil . So far , season 1 was more like an introduction to characters and the crazy world of Chainsaw Man but this is the arc from where things start to move forward and from where Chainsaw Man started to become more popular . I feel like this arc too will depend on people's taste on whether they will enjoy it more or just feel it was okay (Mainly if you understand Denji's character) . For me I think if we have to see from anime cannon movies perspective , I will like this movie more than JJK 0 (And if the ost and animation are perfect than also more than Demon Slayer Mugen Train) . Personally I think story wise it is better than both JJK0 and DS:MT and from how the animation looks it may be better in general (Not saying those two movies were bad btw)

Is this a hype arc? INSANE levels of hype. Me, I didn't want to wait after s1 ended so I started reading the manga and got to the point JUST after the swimming pool scene and stopped because, "I *have* to see this on video first". so much hype. It's directly after s1. the end of s1 has Reze (you don't see her face) talking about the country MOUSE and the city MOUSE. Because of all the fatalities, they shuffled the teams a bit and Denji is working with Beam now. You saw Beam in s1. And you *definitely* saw and heard him in the trailer.

The Reze arc is a direct continuation of the story right after season 1. The new character was teased at the end of season 1 and is the central character of the movie. From this arc onward is what manga readers have been hyping up since 2021 and the production team isn't taking any chances. Just from the core staff, this movie will be Sukuna vs Jogo or Sukuna vs Mahoraga, but movie quality. The new director, Tatsuya Yoshihara, who was the action director for season 1, with the action director role now going to the one and only Sota Shigetsugu (HoneHone), who storyboarded and did action direction for One Piece #1074, and also recently animated in the Sukuna vs Mahoraga fight, it is safe to say that the action will be a spectacle to remember. The characters designs have gone through a noticable change, now being much simpler in terms of line-art and mostly kagenashi (shadowless). I expect some extraordinary character stills, with YamaSou and Shun now being the Sub Character Designers. The movie will also probably have an incredible aesthetic thanks to Riku (Ligton) on Color Script and Naomi Nakano as Color Designer. One thing that we have still yet to see is the Key Animation list, which is probably the most exciting part of the movie. Just from the trailer, there is potential for absolute masters like Tam Lu. We also did see Hayato Kurosaki's incredible smoke animation, Riki Matsuura's effects animation and HoneHone channeling his inner Yutaka Nakamura. This movie will be uncontrollable madness in terms of animation and I cannot wait.

Enjoy the ride and don't judge it based on minorities comments. Its not the same or as simple but think how John Wick movies made you connect to the character. Just style and badass moments throughout. There is a reason why its so popular. The Mcs change and army of characters. I also did not think the art/animation style in S1 did it any justice, and season 2 looks way closer to the webtoons godly art style and looks amazing.
