To be honest, the first 50 episodes or so are fine. it's just the phantom troupe arc(or whatever it's called) and past that are a little darker

Last time I checked Killua was killing normal people who were trying to take hunter exams and was saying "And than I stabbed my mom in the face and she cried because she was proud.."💀💀Killua ripped out the guys heart , Hisoka beheaded an examine , Hisoka being creepy etc. so many things were not normal even in the Hunter Exam arc . And saying "a little darker" to the other arcs makes the show looks wholesome . The way people were being killed in York New City arc , Greed Island arc , Chimera Ant arc and the arcs after that was messed up dark .

The notes about the One Punch Man opening sounding like the 80s into 90s is pretty spot on! JAM Project it a group made by two anime song legends Hironobu Kageyama and Maasaki Endoh who have been doing these kinds of powerful rock songs for ages.

When Waleska was talking about Japanese songs that are multi-layered with different genres etc, there's a guy on KZbin named Dr. Kaito Tomita (he studied PhD in music at Tokyo Uni or something) that talked about this exact the revolution in Jpop. He believed that it happened in 2019 with the insane success of King Gnu's Hakujitsu and Official Hige Dandism's Pretender that pushed the dynamics of Jpop song writing to a whole new level. Since then, most of Jpop songs that make it to the top all started sounding like crack While I do agree with him, obviously that's not the only reason. Those two bands weren't the first artists to do it, but they definitely popularized and pushed it into the mainstream. Also gotta give credit to the Vocaloid producers too because they're also on crack. And I might as well say every layer of the Japanese music industry from top to down are all on crack so yeah

Karaoke lyrics were a standard back in the days off fan made subtitles (fansubs). Now you can get most series officially translated, but in the past, fansubbing groups always added kanji and transliteration lyrics for karaoke together with a translation. You could just sit and singalong in your parents basements in the middle of the night. xD

Death Note is a classic anime. One of the best at that time. HunterXHunter, Naruto, and Getbackers are also the best of the best. Now, I am watching Solo Leveling, Demon Slayer, Bleach Thousand Years Blood War, among others. And also I recommend Tokyo Ghoul, No Game No Life, Shingeki no Kyojin, Boko no Hero, among others. If you're confused, Hunter x Hunter is an old series that got its anime adaptation in 1999 and later being remake in 2002. Ohayou (the first song) is the opening back in 1999 and the second one Departure is the opening of the remake

I dodn't know if you guys reacted to anything by Maximum the Hormone yet. They did Death Note OP2 and ED2. Those are just metal af and would make a phenomenal reaction material. Heavenly Delusions (Tengoku Daimakyo is just the original Japanese title that D+ went with for some reason) is one of the best shows in 2023, but got bought by Disney+, got zero marketing and is probably the most underrated hidden gems of the last few years. That sucks for the show and it also sucks for the song, because it's also a great track. This one's on Disney+, so it's probably just one click away, and it's a story worth watching.
