You couldn't have said it better. The "fitting in" with the other anglers vs. Fitting in with the bait fish or what bass want is important.

I always try to think of it from the bass' perspective.

Great advice and content. Lakes I fish are always pressured. Usually when moving baits dont work I go to some sort of soft plastic that is small and subtle then try to slow things down. Sometimes with success and other times not so much.
@LowBrowFishing9 ай бұрын
Sometimes it can be pretty hard. But being able to adjust like that does give you a better shot at success!

Crazy how different things are from there to here. High of 49 today and got really cold last night. Furnace still kicking in all the time but the buck bass are finally coming up and fanning beds.

Downsized soft plastics work for me. I like the drop shot using roboworms. Also, texas rigged and free rigged 4" worms, 3.5 " creature baits, 1/6 ounce rooster tails. I replace the trebles, a single owner hook gets thru the grass better. I need to try silent running sqaurebills.

I just recently got a BFS reel so I’ve just started using the ned rig and it’s been working. I wasn’t good enough with a spinning reel to cast them.
@LowBrowFishing9 ай бұрын
I'm probably going to get a BFS reel soon. I think it will help how I can work ultra finesse techniques.

Ned rig or a drop shot with a robo worm is money when there's tons of people at the lake.

Those are excellent techniques!

Bass in the spring shut down because of all the pressure and noise. Bass in the summer are use to the pressure and noise but they've seen everything by that point. Sometimes it pays to be subtle.

Considering there were no less than 4 boats within casting distance all day, I'd actually say it was a rather light day out there for once.

Thanks LowBrow, another great video! I really just love fishing a spinner bait, really a confidence bait for me, pressured or not. Question: Do you have any books that you would recommend for beginners? Ones that explain better what to fish during times of year/weather?
@LowBrowFishing9 ай бұрын
I would recommend anything by Doug Hannon, who's known as the Bass Professor. But rather than focusing on what lures to use, focus on bass behavior. Studying that will teach you infinitely more about bass fishing!

For me a lot of people wacky worm .So I try to use something different in the colour than the rest.One way to do this is recycle your Senko s or stick baits. I put together Frankenstein stickbaits By putting together to different colours.I take a sandwich bag or freezer bags .Take a marker mark Yum , Yamamoto or what ever Only put together worms from the same brand ,for best results and diameter matched.Take scissors to square up the connection area Use a lighter to lightly heat the two ends of each worm , then push the two together hold with some pressure for a minute or so Then put down to cool . Leave for about 1/2 an hour before use. Install hook off to one side of the weld area or not in the weld area
@LowBrowFishing9 ай бұрын
That's a great tip!

@@LowBrowFishing Helps the environment and saves some money if money is tight Something to do on a rainy day The welding might take 2-3 to get the hang of it. The Frankenstein s will have more wiggle action .

Find bass hiding under ultra thick cover where regular guys won’t throw a bait. Then I throw a jig straight into the thickest cover, wait for a thump, then winch them out.

100% dropshot. The cool thing about the drop shot is you can use any kind of lure you want such as a caffeine shad,or roboworm.

If you are describing what I think you are describing, you'll clearly be able to SEE the bass. They'll be milling around and the only response you might be able to get from them is negative. Actually, as long as they're not actually threated, they pretty much ignore even the most intrusive baits altogether. I've learned to not waste my time with these fish. Perhaps the majority of the bass might be in this mood but I also believe that not all bass do all the same things at the same time. That's when I ignore the bass I can see and fish for those that I can't. I won't necessarily change my tactics. I just don't bother with the aforementioned fish. The ONLY exception to this was ONCE during a time when, again, I could SEE the bass and I'm pretty sure they could see me. I threw the kitchen sink at them. Nada. Nothing. Zero. I had my fly rod with me and I decided to go after bluegill. However, before I tied on a panfish-size popper, I noticed a bass popper in my fly box. I thought, "Well, I'm here and it won't be going out of my way much..." so tied on a bass popper and cast it out. It's like those bass hadn't eaten in a month! Each one (I think I caught 6) rocketed straight up to the surface and just clobbered that popper! I never saw anything like it before or since and it was purely an accident. But for whatever reason it was what the bass wanted on that day.

Not many others fishing by me but a lot of boats come by my little pier. I don't know how much effect that has.

It has an effect. Sometimes bait fish like the nutrients stirred up by the prop wash, which in turn can attract bass.

i just realized to this while shopping bass pro i noticed certain colors and certain lures were totally picked through so this can be taken 1 of 2 ways: grab this stuff up because it’s working or grab the complete opposite stuff and throw that because it’s seen less🫢
