I’m currently fishing the Anna Maria island and Skyway bridge area for Tarpon. What is your preferred spinning reel and pole size for fishing with lures.

If you are fishing those zones where the fish are bigger and water is deeper. You will need an 8’ XH 30-50lb rod with at least an 8000 reel!

Live bait. Small paddletail/jerk bait (pearl or dark color for dark water). My favorite bait is jigging a Terroreyz on the bottom. Like a shrimp lure, just twitch twitch pause.

C.A the Catch 2000 is a definate confidence bait when I target beach snook. Ive made the transition to single inlines, but does going with a larger tail hook dampen the plugs action or cause it to tail drag?
