Another top reaction mate. Now it's boring fact time - this is the only song off the album that I never managed to learn all the lyrics to. Over the years as I sang along to the song, as you do, I slowly replaced the parts I didn't know with my own so now when I sing along it's 80% Megadeth and 20% my own

I think Dave once said the lyrics are about Jesus not really wanting to be in the cross, a normal thought of a human being who is being given to save humanity. Of course in real lore of christianity Jesus never doubt about he was going to do. Whats more he tricked the devil into thinking that Jesus would condone man because they killed gim but in facg god won at the end, by dying he saved mankind for eternity.

What's crazy is that Jesus actually DID start having anxiety and doubts about what he was going to do. I looked it up because I forget. Matthew 26:39 - He went a little farther and fell on His face, and prayed, saying, “O My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as You will.” This was right before they were about to take him away to be crucified. Basically asking God AKA (himself)... anyway... if he could maybe spare him from what was about to happen.

There are so many better songs by Christian bands about Jesus. And they get it biblically accurate. I hear Dave Mustaine is supposedly a born-again Christian now. He should put his music where his faith is. I’d buy a full-on Christian album by Megadeth if it honored Jesus Christ in reverence.
