"The gunman who fired shots at former President Donald Trump in an assassination attempt at a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, Saturday night has been identified by the FBI as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks. He was killed by a Secret Service sniper, officials said.
One audience member at the rally, Pennsylvania firefighter Corey Comperatore, was killed in the shooting, and two other men are in critical condition, officials said. A spokesperson for Allegheny General Hospital said the injured victims were stable, although still in critical condition, on Sunday night."

I recently gained so much respect for Cenk aswell as Ana. Im a conservative but im really close to the middle. And im a big fan of people on the left who can call out their own side when they see all the bullshit and who can also say a nice things about the other side, same goes for the people on the right, i really dislike Candance Owens or Andrew Tate or Matt Walsh for instance because they are very far on the right and they will never criticize their own political side. And i disagree with 90% of what Cenk says, but he is not a propagandist, he has his own opinion and beliefs but he is being honest about it. And honestly Cenk and Ana are doing really great job to convert to their side all the people who are somewhere in the middle of the political spectrum. I really appreciate that, not because i like it when people on the left criticize their own side, but because i want to watch more people with liberal/progressive views who i can consider intelectually honest. So thank You Cenk and Ana for showing people like me that the left can be honest, can be fair, and can be an alternative to the right. And lastly i want to give a proof that what Cenk is doing really works. "Proof" is a big word here but ill go with it 😅 So ive been really invested in the Israel/Palestine conflict, and Cenk was one of the main reasons (maybe the biggest reason) why my view on this conflict changed a lot since the beginning. He was always honest in these debates, and everybody who is honest is worth listening to as far as im concerned, but sadly there is not a lot of people in the media sphere who are truly honest... Right now i consider Cenk voice and opinion to be very valuable. If something big is happening i want to know what Cenk thinks about it, i will most likely disagree with him but i want to know what his judgement is because it matters to me, and he earned it with his honesty. So thank You Cenk and Ana because we need more people like you on the left and on the righ, people who are not a puppets and propagandists but honest and fair comentators. What I don't understand is how it is suddenly so obvious for some people that authorities should have been alerted because someone was at a roof with a rifle. I mean, can't people walk along supermarket aisles carrying rifles in some places in America? Can't random people be heavily armed while around children basically anywhere? So why is it such a big deal to see a guy with a rifle on a roof? I am sort of kidding of course. But this goes to show that, in their infinite delusion, many pro-gun Americans will simply ignore in many other contexts the inherent risk that random strangers carrying guns represents. You can't know that there were no other potential assassins. To say that the danger was gone, given their knowledge at the time, is incorrect.

Should not the Secret Service immediately have rushed Trump to safety, without assuming that there was only one gunman? Instead, while still keeping him covered (to their credit), they let Trump put his fist in the air and yell "fight", instead of rushing him immediately away from the podium and to safety. I'm not a right winger or a left winger, I'm the middle ground between. What Trump did was courageous. The fact he went to the event was courageous. The fact an innocent bystander died protecting his family was courageous... Now to stand up & call out "fight" cannot be directed to himself. A man had died & many were injured right next to him. Trump is not courageous. He attacks people of which he knows they are weaker/cannot retaliate, plays the strong man against strong people and INSTANTLY buckles when he meets them in person, be it Putin, Kim Jong Un or Bonesaw MBS. In the case of this attack Trump knew that the shooter was dead. And he instantly switched back into that what he is an expert at, (self-)advertising mode. Demanded his shoes that he fell out of because his lifts are so high that his heels are at the rim of the shoe. And he knows how to pose, that is his primary tool for selling. The only book we know of that he kept in his bedstand and read in was a book with Hitler speeches. Hitler trained huge gestures for his speeches, had himself photographed to see the looks. That was necessary in that time, as was the screaming, in their time, when you wanted to reach a beer hall filled with 5,000 people without loudspeakers and huge monitors to enlarge your face, you needed to scream and huge gestures to be seen.

The authorities didn't secure the area, including after witnesses informed cops that something was up. So there were failures for sure. 1) It obviously is courageous to connect with the crowd right after the shooting. There is a possibility of a second shooter. 2) To say Trump was not hurt badly is very superficial. Have you ever thought of the mental impact? Just take a look at hostage victims, or military personal that has been shot at. 3) The secret service is a shit show. That doesnt take away from the courageous actions that those agents took that were close to Trump. It is truly shocking that this „reporter“ tries to turn this into a gun issue. Over many years. I dealt with many federal employees. The incompetence and indolence of the leadership never ceased to amaze me. This included the FBI, DOE, IRS, and HUD. Federal employees are some of the most advantaged employees in the world. The pay and benefits are excellent. Yet, the federal system seemed to promote less competent employees with a bad work ethic. I guess leadership in the Secret Service and the Capitol Police are as bad as the rest.
