As a certified make-up artist here: we were taught to take breaks while doing eye-liner so the client can blink. Don't expect them to sit there with open eyes for 5 minutes😭😭😭

The eyes are a very sensitive area, and putting foreign objects/products on or around them is going to trigger a bunch of natural responses - including blinking and/or tearing up. It's a common sense thing to allow the client to adjust while they work on that specific area, and the MAs featured here didn't acknowledge it at all, instead criticizing and chastising her for a genuinely natural reaction. Bad form on their part, experienced or not.

my jaw dropped at 10:54 when i saw lines of eyeshadow IN YOUR EYES, i can’t 😭😭😭 also i work as an ophthalmic technician and i want to write a letter that explains the ocular etiology behind blinking/twitching when a foreign object comes close to the eye and that you (or anyone else) CANNOT control it, it’s just your eye doing it’s your job and a completely natural reaction. you can print it out and give it to each MUA when they complain about your blinking 😭🤣

It's the brushes, you can work with shitty eyeshadow if you have good brushes. But if you have shitty brushes and shadow, that's never going to work unless you're extremely talented or adapted

Maybe I just prefer less dramatic make up but to me this was terrible. Way too strong,too much,too dark. It made her look 20 years older and also reminded me of that grandma look because the eyeshadow went up to her brows ._. Also eye+lips didn't match and neither did cheeks +lips. All in all it looked like granny meets carnival to me.

It’s okay to miss your Mum, sweetheart. As a Mum of two, I cherish the fact that my children love spending time with me, sharing our traditions, even though they’re growing up & building their own lives, you’re never too old to have a relationship with your Mum & I’m sure, if she’s anything like me, the separation is even harder on her than you. Until you’re a parent, it’s impossible to explain, but you bring this child into the world, loving them from their first spark of life. As they grow & mature, we’re thrilled that we know we’ve raised responsible, ethical, loving, moral children who can build their independent lives right before our eyes. It’s what every parent prays for; to know you’ve done right by your children & that they’ve learned well & one day, will carry on when you’re no longer here. But< it’s also so difficult seeing this growth process because you always remember & cherish the memories of when they were dependent upon you for everything. So, since our children no longer necessarily need us, we cherish that they in turn want us. Does that make sense? I just wanted to share that with you because, seeing the young woman you are, I’ve no doubt you’re Mum is incredibly proud of the young woman you’ve matured into. I know, if you were my daughter, I would be. And I don’t need to know you personally to make this comment; as I can SEE who you are, your spirit, your soul, as gentle & kind as the best. You’re parent(s) raised you right & it comes through loud & clear. So, don’t feel bad missing her - she misses you more. Its not silly that you are missing your mom. My first child and only daughter is 22 and moving into her own apartment next month. I can only hope she'll miss being home sometimes. I do feel lucky I got her a little longer than my mom had me as I moved at 19. But now my mom lives in the addition we added to our house so I just keep telling myself that I might live with her again someday. Otherwise my heart would wither and die. My kids are my air.

@@galexical I'm pretty lucky that she lives only 25 minutes away from me and I take comfort that she is living above her workplace ( she just graduated as a funeral directress and lives above the funeral home.... I could NEVER! I sometimes get weirded out while I'm visiting). But I know she doesn't have to drive on the highway every day to get to and from work and she is surrounded by the guys she works with and they are protective of her. I really lucked out with the opportunity she has had for her first home away from home. I know your parents must miss you to no end. From a parent's perspective, it is very painful and nerve racking to "lose the little child that still lives in their heart". I wish you the absolute best at university... make sure to not lose touch with your parents... hearing from you, I'm sure, means the most to them.

You, my dear Judy, have the absolute patience of a SAINT! I would never ever allow an MUA to pull on my undereyes like that. And the way some of these MUAs (if that's what they REALLY are- I have some real suspicions about that!) talk to you and about you right in front of your face always makes me want to punch 👊🏻 my phone screen. They are SO rude. And how can nearly every salon or whatever they're called NOT ever match your foundation to your skin tone AND then allow you to walk out of their salons looking like a clown. (Not you, my dear, you are STUNNING- it's the makeup that blows my mind!) However I love these videos and they always give me a laughing fit, especially with the sound effects! I guess that's a good enough reason to let these fools play makeup artist on your face- but really? I just don't get these "artists" and that most of them either A- Think they've done an amazing job. B- pull and press and scrape your skin like you're not even a real person! And C- blame YOU always for their mistakes or why the makeup doesn't look right 🙄 I could never, but I'm glad you do bc it gives great content! And I'm sure you go home and sanitize every inch that they've touched your skin- some of those tools that they use! Like what even was that white pencil. I literally saw nothing! Ive been in the makeup industry a long long time and i can safely say that none of those products were likely sanitised before entering your eye space! They were probably used on client after client, continually collecting and passing on bacteria. Absolutely terrifying! The colours I totally dig, for a festival or a wild party, and that lip colour is pretty....just not with that eye makeup! Youre a martyr for even doing this for our entertainment, but please be careful you don't end up with a staph infection. I know of someone who had her makeup done by a 'makeup artist' who had used a black eye pencil (which hadn't been sanitized and was used again and again on different clients, without even sharpening) and the girl in question caught acute conjunctivitis and had it for the best part of a year! The poor girl had red sore eyes and had to continually use steroid eye drops and had to visit the hospital and doctor often. Please be careful!

I gotta say. Im 57 and have done snd seen my fair share of makeup. And its so refreshing to see someone that us not obsessed with having these HUGE ass eyebrows that are so thick and you can tell are drawn in. Makeup is supose to enhance your beauty not fake it up like a clown. It kills me when im talking to someone and i cant stop looking at there huge fake eyebrows. You do you. LOL. I'm an MUA in my area. You can do someone's eye makeup with them blinking. You just ask them to not blink, but work in small sections, pull away, and then tell them they can blink. After they're good, you go back in for a little more, and repeat the process until you're done. You gotta' give your clients breaks to blink their eyes... It's like asking someone not to breathe. These MUA are insufferable for blaming their inadequacy and messy work on you. And how stressful to have one of the MUA giving backseat direction. The makeup isn't absolutely terrible. It's messy, but with practice, it could be pretty. They just need to work on their blending, more gentle application, cleanup, hygienic practices, and attitudes.
