What is YOUR every-mallet - a pair of mallets that you use for pretty much everything? Let me know in the comments below! P.S. Sorry for the late upload, I couldn't figure out why Premiere wasn't letting me render this video and then I literally changed one setting and it works now. WEIRD! ALSO sorry for the terrible lighting, I'm getting it fixed this week... Thank you for watching 😁 #TheStudioFamily

Adam Tan uh I found an old pair of mallets in my school's band hall that have the name "Jeff" written on them and I've been using them for about 2 years (and not stopping anytime soon 😂)

Ooooh Could you do more of the every mallet reviews? Could you also do a sound test on the other instruments you have since they are 'every' mallets, plus it would be cool to see you play other instruments on the channel
@AdamTanPercussion7 жыл бұрын
Yessss although I don't own many every mallets... I should get more!

Mike Balter is like the double edged sword of percussion. They make some really great mallets (like these, the 23R, and the Tony Micelli series), but they also make some not super great (but not remarkably terrible) mallets (The original Mike Balter Basics some to mind). Any way, you should take a look at some Promark Mallets. The Promark Dan Fyffe Series & The Performer Series are pretty great, and wont break the bank.

So true! They are definitely not a brand to be slept on though, some fantastic models in their lineup :) And I will look into that, thanks for suggesting!

There's a maker on ebay that goes by the name of "Jet Percussion" they have a very similar shape/sound rubber mallet in blue. Love the sound of you're "vibraphone" haha! Also had a laugh i have one of those spinners in my stick bag...alleviates boredom during a 400 bar rest hehe!
@AdamTanPercussion7 жыл бұрын
DONGGGGGGG I've never seen Jet Percussion, I will check it out! And yes spinners are great for wasting time ahahaha that's why I have 3...

How do these compare to Ron Vaughn Woodblock Mallets? I was going to buy some green rubbers but my lesson teacher said to get the Woodblock Mallets instead

I have a practice marimba at home, really cheap one, only $1000, it's really articulate. If I got these mallets would it sound like a xylo? That's kinda what I'm researching when it comes to rubber mallets on marimba.
@AdamTanPercussion7 жыл бұрын
Yes it would sound like a xylo except with the rubberised articulation so more soft - I guess it'd be practice mallets on a practice marimba ahahaha

I feel ashamed when he said why would anyone get this in birch. I have them in birch
@AdamTanPercussion7 жыл бұрын
+Asome7 5527 Hahaha don't be, I just wouldn't get that myself but that doesn't mean you're wrong! If it works for you why not ☺️
I'm confused why you would say that you would always want the mallets in rattan? As a birch boy when I heard that I jumped.
@AdamTanPercussion7 жыл бұрын
Ahahaha I like birch too, but I think because they are small mallets that you'd normally want to play fast with the rebound helps :)

Not gonna lie I unintentionally stole my school's resident pair of these and I've found they're the best I've got for multi perc stuff! I don't feel bad beating on em because there's no yarn, but mine are birch, not rattan (did I say mine? I meant the school's, which I intend to return, eventually...... 😅)

There was a human voice, obviously some kind of flaky humor, and I wanted to hear the mallet on the glockenspiel. You say nothing, you don't think any of us can figure out what an unwound mallet is all about? I wanted to listen to a mallet on instruments. I'm sorry, you probably do know what you are talking about but you're not educating me or showing me anything new.
