Hmmm I like the concept of it but in reality they cant be compared for too many reasons!

Part of me loves the detail in fan designed MOCs and the other part of me realizes how much more I would need to pay to get all those intricate designs. I feel LEGO did a solid job at making a tribute set without inflating the cost too much.

I can only imagine all of the meetings they go through to get these to production! Not to mention all of the iterations 😅

I totally agree with you on the roofs. There could have been a number of ways to improve their designs!
@amyjones259 ай бұрын
Nothing makes me like a moc like a beautiful roof design. I love that one with the ball pins on the roof.

So is it possible to buy any of these sets? Like for example the "Town Manor" at 2:40 ... I don't mean just the building instructions, but as an actual set? It is beautiful!
@BrickedtoPerfection3 ай бұрын
I honestly wish we could 😔 It's a matter of what's released from LEGO IDEAS or the Bricklink Designer Program. LEGO had a pilot for Bricklink where we could buy the building instructions and it would automatically gather the pieces for us to buy from authorized re-sellers, but I haven't heard anything come out of that program. Let's hope that changes in the future!

I like this comparison video concept, but there was a bit too much “swooshing” between pics for me to follow the comparisons you were making.

First I’m doing when I get this set is redesigning the roofs

Yes, always. But can they make them cheaper?

set looks good but the roof is lacking bigtime

Comparing build beauty doesnt mean anything if your newly bought Lego set is a torment to build..

It's interesting how there's a fine balance between too detailed and too simple. Awesome video!
@BrickedtoPerfection9 ай бұрын
Thank you! There's definitely a balance there, which is super tough to hit!

I like this comparison video- these fan designers are so talented and it’s great to see their designs showcased. I think Lego could have done better with the foliage on this set, it looks unfinished.

I'll forever be amazed by the amount of talent out there with these custom designs 🙂

I think the Medieval line is a little old-school. They made Rirenland that is much more advanced.

I agree fan designs are better. However fans design don’t take cost into account. The fan designs would cost way too much and we would complain about that. Lego has to strike a balance of quality build within a budget.

While not a fan of the medieval sets, I think the "Mountain Fortress" by SleeplessNight in Bricklink's Series 1 was a very thoughtful design. It used minimal foliage much better than the Medieval Town Square INO. It is more of a castle theme then the Town Square approach Lego used in this new release. Really like how you are improving your channel. Wish the videos were more frequent. 👍
@BrickedtoPerfection9 ай бұрын
I totally agree with you and loved their use of minimal foliage 🙂 Thank you for your kind words! I'd love to post these videos more frequently, too. Hoping I can get these out on a weekly basis 🤞

While I agree the roofs could have done with a little touchup, mocs never give me the lego feel, they are too dense and detailed. Less is more, that is the success of not just lego design.

That’s an excellent point!

I love the new set especially the roofs yes there 2 that need work, but all the others i like more than all the designer ones. There are better looking buildings from the designer ones, but i still think this new set is quite good.

It's definitely a solid set, for sure! I'm so glad we're getting more medieval stuff 😄

Lego ideas sets are overly detailed. Look cluttered an that is the main reason why they never get selected
