I was one of the first purchasers of the Rimetrix silver wheel covers for my Model 3s. 18" wheels, natch. I noted no difference in the mileage when installing them vs the Tesla covers. My reason for purchase was to have silver rims instead of the black. I'd go for a set of more efficient wheels but only if offered in silver. Rimetrix is a class company. Quick response to inquiries, quick shipping, good folks.

I believe the foam is to prevent further scratching on the wheel finish, not quite sound dampening foam. Great looking wheel cover!

Being a 90's kid, having discussions and reviews on hub-caps is incredibly ironic. Back then, everyone hated hubcaps and wanted the oem upgraded wheel options and now EVs have made them a style element. 😆

You can buy Tesla logo stick on cap covers, that's what I did when I had my Model 3. They stayed securely in place and never came off while driving.

I bought the Orbitals back in 2021 (based on your review) and while I do like them overall, I can hear them rattle when I have the windows down and I'm driving on a surface that's not completely smooth (the covers are secure, however). Do the Umbras suffer from the same thing or do the foam strips take care of that?

💯 Wheels and tires make a huge difference! I put Aero wheels and low-rolling resistance tires on my 2022 Tesla Model 3 Performance and they boosted my range from 315 miles with OEM wheels and tires up to 340 miles on the freeway with the ones I put on. That's an 8% improvement! I've made multiple videos if you want to check them out 🙂

Depends on how hard to hit a curb. The best thing would be for Tesla to stop using tire/wheel combos where the rubber is flush with the wheel.

Except people tend to only charge to 80% capacity so that limits how many additional miles one would get from the gained efficiency. Given that, you may as well just use what you think looks the best.

Kim, I like my Model Y, but The EPA Range Tesla claims is not REAL..... I drive smooth, correct tire pressure, AC off in good weather, flat roads, and I never get the EPA estimated range. Hopefully these cover will help
