Btw, the swidget stuff is cool. And as an avid Home Assistant user, they’re right up my alley. But at $100+ a switch, it’s kinda hard to justify over something like Insteon and YoLink.

That Panasonic air thing sounds like straight snake oil BS. Salesman Ken was just stringing together vaguely sciencey words. We need some data on this gizmo.

Here one piece of advise to swidget. Bring back Z-wave product line. Managing 200+ sensors on wifi is a TERIIBLE idea!

Doesn't "zapping" the air via the product discussed at 3:16 create ozone with that free oxygen molecule when it joins an O2 molecule? Ozone is great in the upper atmosphere, but it is an air pollutant at human altitudes, so putting this device in a home sounds like a bad idea.

Nice presentation of those few booths Brian, especially since you didn't talk over the company reps like somebody else does. The title I felt was a little misleading though, I was expecting to see something like what was in my GRANDPARENTS house 50+ years ago. Where outlets and lighting circuits were switched on and of with a low voltage circuit. And this was a home in West Virginia, not exactly known as a hotbed of innovation . . .

I visited someone who had low voltage switches that activated a solenoid IIRC there were multiple places you could turn a light on or off. What a concept. Somewhere in storage maybe I still have some heath/zenith switches ripoff shack sold.. those were handy as can be.. Modern times we have wifi control switches and outlets, they want 2.4ghz, and my router is owned by the provider and I can't figure out how to change from one to the other, I want my connectivity.

Loved the swidget segment. They've been out for a while it seems, but this is the first I've seen them. Definitely going to give them a try. Thanks for the video!

That Siga corner is nice, it removes the tensioned stretch tape in the corers - which will at some point be the failure behind the scenes over time... Provided the layers are "tiled correctly" to shed from high to low - inside to outside in continuous falls...

Cable railing and or horizontal bar railing not allowed in my area…viewed as climbable. Although I see the point in this, I find it funny how the 4” international rule completely overlooks the climbing factor

I could not find a mention of the Swidget line being Matter capable. Given that all of the big smart home companies have already signed on to this interoperability standard moving forward, it would be a big miss here if they are trying not to play ball. It would date the device from the beginning.

Very interesting and useful info on products that we all homeowners can benefit from. I particularly liked the information about the Panasonic air handling that combines the mundane and the real high-tech air purification system using plasma zap of the nasties. Great content from all your videos and your partners like Bryan

Had the chance to go to the Panasonic booth at IBS. A few things #1 they introduced a heat pump HVAC unit. #2. When looking at their Swidget line, which is amazing by the way, one could read between the lines and see that Panasonic is going to go after that Ring home security market in the near future. Simply focusing on the whole home solution for a variety of smart integration.

I use Ring home security myself for the same reason most everyone else does - it is DIY friendly. I assume Panasonic will be DIY friendly too?

@@donaldlee6760 They haven't announced this direction. It's my hunch. the line of Swidgets and its motion detectors make for good home security; they also have widgets with cameras. again, all in the direction of security. The idea of a "Home Alarm" is converging just like media has - tv , cable, KZbin, social media, etc. - The adoption of this product into the home is amazing.

It's probably similar to using uv light to kill bacteria. Is it dangerous to be exposed? Sure. Is there a high risk in actual use in an appliance designed for it? Probably not. That said, I doubt it would make enough difference to be worth the cost.
