Muay Thai has more subtle rules and ruling than kickboxing. One must understand those rules to win. Those are the judges criteria. One must maintain or gain space. If Buntan came forward and Vader backed up, thats losing space. Even if she backed up and fired first, the one who gets the last strike in is seen as the winner of that exchange. Each time the fighters come within range of each other is considered an "exchange". Bangbangbang they strike , then they break up. Who left the exchange first? Who gave up ground? Which connected with clean Muay Thai techniques? You can throw more punches but if they're not clean with good technique the other fighter can land 3/4 as many kicks with clean techniques and win the exchanges. When there's 2secs of inactivity in a clinch it gets broken up. No elbows or knees; count to 2 and they break. Unfortunately, too many westerners think western rules win and they're finding no success in One, besides Haggerty who fights like a Thai. Funny....

No explanation how they got it wrong. Can't explain how Vanderyeva won. Did she throw good Muay Thai techniques? A few ineffective leg kicks followed by winging punches she missed more often than not. Please educate yourselves.

Sticking and moving cost her the fight. According to the judges she's timid and runs away from the exchange the moment she gets fire back. Muay Thai judges are looking for different things. Muay thai coach here, I've left some other posts here might explain what they're looking for.

Competitive fight between girls. To say pound for pound they would beat most men is just plain silly. That is just woke thinking. We have seen it time and time again, the very best women in any sport get demolished by equal size and weight men. I am 60 years old, and weigh 220lbs, if I chose to beat up girls, I would fight both of these girls at once and knock them both out in under 30 seconds. Their technique would certainly he better, but wokeness can't make up for biology. Any reasonably fit man would grab their hardest kick or punch, and simply throw them around like a rag doll. Not politically correct, but scientifically accurate, as has been demonstrated over and over again when women think they can step up and compete with men.

Schiavello is the Aussie i think. Hes got a ton of kickboxing, muay thai, and striking fight commentary experience but he is a bit over the top. Vanderyeva needs to stop kickboxing and start doing Muay Thai. She can't win these fights boxing, backing out of the exchange first and throwing weak kicks. Look at the size of her delts compared to her quads. Is she throwing good Muay Thai techniques? Is she the last to land before backing out of an exchange? Is she moving forward, and not giving up ground? What about elbows and knees? Did she control the clinch? These are the things Muay Thai judges look at.

@@damienthetexasian6827 Neither lady controlled the clinch, the ref broke them up almost immediately every time they tried to clinch, in ONE they don't look for traditional strikes or elbows to score. It's just illegal to use techniques not common to Muay Thai, other martial arts can and do use techniques that are common to Muay Thai, it's just a crossover affect between disciplines. Elbows, knees, low kicks and trips are part of many martial arts. As for how I think Ekaterina won, well it's more that Buntan lost to me, she never asserted her fierce dominance, she stayed out of Ekaterinas range and by doing so didn't get close enough to strike herself. I guess the bottom line is the subjectivity of judging, I'm not the only one familiar with Muay Thai that thought Ekaterina won. And your not the only one who thought the judging was correct. It's a matter of opinion.
