IMO her heritage isn't a big deal to her. Unlike other Filipino athletes/artists who you could really see them making their roots known to everyone in the ring or on the stage. I guess this is just One's way of promoting her and garnering more Filipino fans.

@@japoops11 philippines has a long history on filipino boxing, they were competing in south east asia either. There is lots of history in shanghai of international bouts, its probably the only thing that filipinos are respected for since declaration of Philippine independence from Spain in 1898. And you can see that little girl is good at boxing, but saw none of kickin knockouts

You fail to mention the fact that Smilla is a giant Straw weight and can't even make the weight class anymore lol. Jackie fighting a girl who is in an entirely different weight class. Of course she's going to not look as good as normal cause of the size and reach difference..
