I think part of why the superstars don’t get blamed as much is because 9 times out of 10, they are the most consistent guys on the court for their team. Obviously they have some bad games or even bad series’ but you usually know what you can expect out of the superstar and they usually perform up to that standard. While the role players or 2nd/3rd options on the team have those roles because they are not consistent enough to be used more

@gpearce11 Жыл бұрын
Even as a Warriors fan, I refuse to use the "Steph was injured in 2016" argument because he was simply too good in the WCF and the first half of the finals. The injury might have resulted in him being a little more gassed by game 7, but it wasn't enough to truly tip the series. Now, Andrew Bogut's injury is a different matter. Draymond's suspension definitely prevented a gentlemen's sweep, but Bogut's absence from the 3rd quarter of game 5 on opened up the paint for the Cavs significantly, which when combined with a truly phenomenal trio of performances from LeBron and Kyrie was enough to tip the result. The way I consider it is that the right teams won in 2015 and 2016, just in the wrong order. If the Cavs are healthy in 2015, I think they win in 6; meanwhile, if Draymond doesn't get suspended and Bogut isn't injured, the Warriors win 2016 in 5 (possibly 6 if we keep the suspension but Bogut is healthy).
@YungLanxx Жыл бұрын
@@gpearce11it’s nice that you’re trying to be objective but using Draymond and Bogut as excuses for losing in 2016 compared to Kyrie and Love being out virtually the entire 2015 finals is asinine. Bogut was a net negative for the time he did play before injury so I doubt game 5 and onward that he magically would’ve became a net positive for the remainder of the finals. As for Draymond he rightfully so suspended for violating league rules and getting so many techs due to his own direct actions which shouldn’t be compared in any way to spontaneous series ending injuries to top 3 players on a team. In all honesty Cavs should’ve won both finals regardless if both teams were fully healthy.
@gpearce11 Жыл бұрын
@YungLanxx Gotta disagree with you a bit there. I 100% believe that the Cavs win in 6 in 2015 if they're healthy, just like I believe the Warriors win 2016 in 5 or 6. This is why, as a Warriors fan, I don't try to make excuses for the Dubs' loss in 2016, because I firmly believe that if both teams are healthy they still win the same number of rings in those two years, just in a different order.
