It may look silly but it really is reflective of our society that the only difference between micronations and "real" nations is the number of people it influences. I could almost say that being a citizen of someplace doesnt make you better than anyone when at the end of the day we're just all human beings.
@dickJohnsonpeter3 жыл бұрын
@@kainakuneho9979 The citizens of developed countries are, taken as a whole, objectively better than the citizens of "bad" countries. I say "bad" for brevity so I don't have to go into all the various things that make one place a better place to live than another. The reason is because if you take just about any country in Africa for instance and swap them with the citizens of say, Switzerland or any better country for that matter, then Switzerland would devolve into a crap hole while the African country would improve. While geography and resources play a part, it is the people inhabiting a place that makes it a good country or a bad one. The proof is all the countries that have ideal geography, weather and resources that are terrible solely because its inhabitants are intrinsically worse in many ways. Also countries, such as America and most European countries as well, that are devolving at the a rate equal to the rate of the people that they take in refugees and immigrants who are leaving the countries that they and their fellow citizens have failed to improve. This is because like, I said, if you swap the people of one country for another one Wil improve and the other will devolve.

I am Andrew Ryan, and I'm here to ask you a question. Is a man not entitled to the sweat of his brow? 'No!' says the man in Washington, 'It belongs to the poor.' 'No!' says the man in the Vatican, 'It belongs to God.' 'No!' says the man in Moscow, 'It belongs to everyone.' I rejected those answers; instead, I chose something different. I chose the impossible. I chose... Rapture. A city where the artist would not fear the censor. Where the scientist would not be bound by petty morality. Where the great would not be constrained by the small! And with the sweat of your brow, Rapture can become your city as well.

I mean this is how society has functioned and evolved since its beginning. The only reason why people see this as not normal or even "crazy" is because these people are branching off from whatever "super power" they were under. In 100 years one of these new nations could be a legitimate force in the world. Nations rise and fall a dime a dozen throughout history.

I used to be really into a web game called NationStates where you're the leader of your own nation, it's all artificial, so there's no AI or anything, it's just you writing down pages of laws and landmarks and history and culture and so on, and every day I believe you get a total of 5 "issues" you can choose to respond to or dismiss, but the real gameplay is in the interaction with other nations in your region. All that to say these micro nation leaders remind me a lot of those days, except it's real life. I think many would find it cringy, but I love it when people gather to roleplay like this. It brings meaning to their lives and it looks like they're all having fun, so who cares?
