After a few of the people at a local store noticed an old thread on the Reaper forums about someone doing something similar with more Mad Max gnolls, we took the gnoll kit and kitbashed a bunch of them to play a modified version of GorkaMorka with them. Mainly shifting from the blasted deserts to a massive savanah/grasslands...that did still have some badlands stuff mixed in.

Wow, I know they say that cellphones and computers are always spying on you with your searches. But it actually helped me this time. I have been looking for more alternative miniatures to kitbash with my 40k minis. Then today, BAM. Your video and channel came up. Never heard of Stargrave or Frostgrave before today. Great work. Liked and subbed.

Love the kitbashes. I've worked with the Frostgrave Gnolls kit before. I'm currently in the process of painting a selection of the metal models from that part of the range, to enhance my Gnoll warband.
@MadhouseMinis3 күн бұрын
@@Bluecho4 are the metal models modular? Or are they usually single piece?
@Bluecho43 күн бұрын
@@MadhouseMinis Not modular. The four I got have two that are single pieces, one a gnoll with a crossbow where you need to glue the bow at the end of the stock, and a big monster guy whose hands, spear, and head come as separate pieces. None of them are like the plastic kit, where you have torso/legs separate from arms for easy kitbashing. You'd need to start chopping off bits to modify them. (Although you probably could make the crossbow gnoll's weapon into a gun without too much trouble. My Gnoll warband is for fantasy, so I build as-intended. But I think it could definitely work.)

For when you're gluing chains, you should look into some super glue accelerator. It will make that process much less fidly. It basically makes super glue instantly cure. You can find it in Hobby Lobby even. In mine it's in the scale model aisle.

So only thing I found "odd"... I almost always hold off on GLUING the head down till I have the arms and weapons in place.... you don't want a model looking off in a super weird way... or if you want them sighting down their weapon... so I'd really recommend kitbashers just use blue tac or poster putty or something to approximate where the head might to and SAVE the plastic glue for the head till last! (or at least till the arms and weapons are positioned!) That said, yeah, these kits from Frostgrave, Stargrave, and Oathmark (and Wargames Atlantic!!!) are fantastic for kitbashing!

baking soda does funky stuff to glue. It acts as an accelerant for super glue (it makes super glue harden almost instantly), it might do something similar to wood glue
