It's not gonna be native 4K 60fps. It will be upscaled with the upscaling tech they're gonna use. Native 4K is hard enough on a 4080.

I love new tech, but the PS5 has barely been optimize to next Gen games, because of the cross Gen development cycles, so this upgrade seems weird, it's the brute force approach. I have a RX 7900xtx in my pc, and it is an upgrade over my PS5, but not night and day in some cases, and the PS5 pro is far less powerful than my pc, just weird, wait until the PS6

Sony is abandoning PSVR by giving it to PC, then instead making a console mid gen refresh, while both Sony's competition prep next generation releases? Bold move. At least Playstation have a ton of first party games to rely on in late 2025, within a year of rumored Nintendo and Xbox next gen launch windows. I wonder how long until Playstation remaster's their PS3 and PS4 games for the PS5P? 10 dollar upgrades again? 80$ game base price I assume?

Remember, Teraflops mean jack shit in-between architecture types. So they are a horrible way to measure performance unless you are dealing with the exact same architecture between the devices you are comparing. So you can't compare Teraflops between AMD and Nvidia graphics cards, for example. The PS5 Pro is likely using RDNA3, and Teraflops are calculated differently between RDNA2 and RDNA3. The GPU is estimated to be between 45% and 50% faster than the PS5 GPU. While separately offering 2 ~ 4x times greater performance in terms of ray racing. So, a 45% improvement in RDNA2, which is what the PS5 is based on, equates a jump from the PS5s 10.3 Teraflops to 14.9 teraflops. So, the PS5 Pro is the equivalent of the PS5 being supped up to 14.9 teraflops. With a 200 to 400% increase in raytracing capabilities.

The specs are weak. It's a cut down 7700XT. Nobody likes that card. It's crap. Sony has no money and had to cut corners. I wouldn't buy that mess.

Actually it's a cut down 7800xt. The 7800xt has 60cus cutting it down to 57cus will give you 3648 shaders to get 33.5 tf you'd have to run that gpu at 2.3ghz. I don't know how they are keeping the price down. When they also claim ram at 18,000mts. That translates to 1.15tbs that's like gddr6x ram on a 384bit bus! We will see, i guess?
