There was a bug where players didnt receive the spray after playing the high amount of matches. I qualified for summer skirmish and i also played more than 50 matches and still didnt receive it even with help of epic support at that time.

Today's players could have never handled that madness lol..tbh, they have it easy. We had to work for victories back then, now they are just kinda handed out. But I agree with you, strategy and a good team got it done back then.
