I used to rent in Westlake Daly City. Renting in there was really nice, given its accessibility to all the big grocery stores, freeway 280 and BART Station. Also the window of my apt was facing the Golf Course with a nice view...... But I wouldn't buy in there after research. All the good locations have been taken by Westlake Apartments, even if we don't care about fog / sand dune's harm to a house's foundation / school district and stuff.

I used to see very big houses with affordable price in San Bruno. Some houses next to Skyline College look pretty nice. But just you'll have to avoid the cemetery view, and be wary of crazy strong winds if it's on the hill.

I honestly feel sorry for the people in the Bay Area. The traffic is awful. The crime is escalating. The home and rent prices are insane. The quality of life is horrible. Would not raise a family there. I guess if you are single it’s ok, if you think over paying for everything is good thing.

@@Bakapooruguy only comments about how bad the Bay is. Sounds like just another dude who got outcompeted. Some industries in the Bay pay 8x the salary of other areas and you don’t need to live in hicksville
