Again the best advice from you Matt - if the player is able to stuff his pride deep in the bag and tries to think before he plays. Thank you, I always love your videos about course management

Good lesson. 160 yard 8 iron pretty impressive, I need 3 more clubs!!

Matt been enjoying your videos for a good while. Played 9 holes today, first time since February. Hit 6 fairway clubs off fairway and they all traveled straight and no topping. (Thanks) 3 wood and 4 hybrid low flight but playable. One bunker and one shot getting out using my only wedge in my bag. Still shot 55 but greens in horrible shape and putts bounced around like a freaking superball, 3 putt city.

Fantastic lessons Matt!! I’ve been in the rough and the beach more times than I’ve had hot dinners and lost so many shots too!! Hopefully I can take this out on the course now and lower my handicap. Cheers mate 👍🏻

Matt I would like to thank you - in one of your most recent videos you mentioned dropping your shoulder/elbow to get back under the plane which would help reduce slices/hooks. During the most recent game I was putting some emphasis on that and my slice turned into a fade and I was getting some extra distance - for example the fifth hole my second shot is normally a 4 iron but the other day I was hitting a 8 iron. I was also doing this with my irons and they were going straight as a dye. It'll be interesting to see how much of an impact this will have on my clubs (especially my driver) as I was using my dad's clubs (we have a monthly swap clubs challenge)

I started golf in June/July and I’ve managed to get down to 10 and I never use my driver... took 60 out the bag also and those 2 clubs have saved me loads of shots by not using them! I strike the ball well and I’ve got a pretty decent swing speed so I don’t need to use my driver, I bought a sim UDY and I play from the tee using that! Great video as this will help thousand by just being realistic 🏴👍🏌️♂️

Another great vid Matt and will be taking those recomms on board, espec gripping down the club for punch and deeper rough escapes!; what would you do if your in a bunker playing from clingy wet sand where its difficult to push the club through the sand underneath ? and in a good bunker how far behind the ball are you looking to enter the sand with the clubface, i tend to aim not far behind the ball with mixed results ? MANY THANKS !!

Fantastic video. Best thing for my game was learning to take the ego out of the shot. Sure I can be the hero and hit the ball through the 6 inch gap in the trees, but I can take double and triple out of play by hitting through the 10 foot gap for my recovery. Loving the content

Also in the long rough would you normally open the face. I do, everything you suggested but i generally open the face to counter act the tough trying to shut the face

Hi Matt, sometimes when I'm using an iron the shot shoots to the right for several shots in a row and then I'm back to normal. Any ideas as to why? I wonder if I'm chopping down on it a bit? The ball doesn't go far
@daveshannon65634 жыл бұрын
Brilliant advice matt, I had it drilled into me by my pro, kept telling me don't go for the "career shot" keep it simple, get it back in play, I quite often found I'd then par the hole, the alternative is to hit the "career shot" and end up in more trouble and double/triple bogey ends up on the card 🙄🙄
@treker344 жыл бұрын
Should we hit that out like a chip shot?

I haven't watched this yet but I'm already giving it a like... Why? Because on the course I'm always in trouble. This will come in handy.

This is something I have changed this year in my game. I have swallowed my pride to realize I am not a professional to be able to take shots that are "miracle" shots. I have saved a ton of strokes just getting the ball back into play.
