These Side Characters in Naruto Were WASTED!!!
The Curly Haired Hokage goes over some of the characters in Naruto that had wasted potential for the story. Characters such as Rock Lee, Neji Hyuga, and Shino Aburame, are just some of the many characters in the show that had a lot of expectation with them from their initial showings, but for one reason or another, they get regulated to NPC characters by the time Shippuden comes around, making them useless. This would give all the spotlight to Naruto, Sasuke, Sakura, etc.

When you point it out. Now realize, yeah so much characters are wasted. They're too much focus on uchiha.

The problem is that Kishi seems to have a problem with readapting character to have a different purpose in the story, like how some of these characters where probably supposed to die, ie neji but they let them fade to the side cause Kishi can't be bothered to use them with respect

2:17 - he was the dark horse in the chunin exams. He had a potential, he was strong, smart and unpredictable, his battle IQ was great. But it was all wasted. He wasn't included in the Sasuke's retrieval arc. I think if he was included in the crew, they could have won and the mission could be successful
