Thanks mate was using (1/6) hook 2h only thing about Taupo I think you can still only use uncented softbaits fish and game water changed a few years back savage gear make some good ones though have caught trout in Taupo on them

I was also using a small split shot further up the line get it down a bit faster

Wow great fishing. Are you trolling the soft baits or simply bouncing them off the bottom?

Thanks mate actually dropping them straight down on trout using the fish finder they like to take them on the drop so you will see them come up to eat it. Also got one on the bottom just lifting and falling the softbaits slightly
