The great thing about growing up and being socialized into a "democracy" (and I use that word loosely) is that everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Right or wrong and even narrow-minded, dogmatic, bigoted or racist. I speak as a black man here-and I speak with love, when I say that it's not genetic and it's not all of us. Same is true for white brothers and sisters. You will always have a SLICE of folks in EVERY race who for whatever reason will choose a life of crime. That's life.

How about LISTENING to the goddamned video before submitting it as finished?? Geeesh!! How do you NOT hear the words, then decide it's good to go? The "producers" might find their calling stealing cars...and let the thieves make the videos. Couldn't be any worse.

Who would ever want this happening in their neighbourhood or across the street, it's insane, a horrid psychology either created by oppression or bred in society. Strange how older goggos and madalas don't want this in their districts so it begs a question is it a younger people thing or is the deprivation of feel good hobbies / activities due to financial restraints that lead to behaviour that seems outrageous but merely a need to feel better about the position they're all in. It's horrible to see, it truly is

Wow! It's so amazing how people comment on this video, when they don't even know any of these guys. about 75% of this video was made up. I am a very proud Soweto boy who turned out to be better than most of my peers, and this is by the grace of God. This documentary is very old and was rehearsed. I went to school with 3 of the guys being interviewed on this video and one of them was my close friend, we were classmates from grade 1 to 7. yes it is true that they ended up doing crime, however none of them know anything about stealing cars. Their crime would be housebreaking, mugging and shoplifting(not that it is good). Most of the still don't know how to drive properly to this day. The cars they ''stole'' were props and the event were car are spun is not even related to this story. If you think about it there's no runaway cars, those cars are old and cheap and, the reporter is there to film the car theft, one of the cars is being pushed. The cars that they're supposedly stealing are a few streets from their homes if you didn't know, and the documentary was played on TV (SABC 3) any South African can tell you that Special Assignment is a documentary production that we grew up watching as families. If we saw them the next day after the documentary would it not be easy for the owners of the vehicles and the police to go after them? All these areas where the cars are ''stolen'' are areas were we grew up as kids to men.i.e. which at Soweto, the videos were shot at Central Western Jabavu, White City Jabavu, Molapo, Moroka North, and Dobsonville. It would have been easy for them to be killed. Please don't get me wrong crimes like these happen almost everywhere in the world and I'm not defending these thugs, I grew up to hate crime with passion. the lady who did this documentary had to boost her career in some ways, the guys probably did this to gain respect in the hood or they could have been compensated for this. they're all still broke and worn out. This has nothing to do with color or country, some kill in the name of religion, some for fun, some for power, wealth or greed. Jews were not killed by Jews. Mafias didn't originate from black, the twin towers not bombed by blacks, Germany was not divided by blacks. World War ?, Pearl Harbor?By the way if you look at most countries or nations that were divided it was because of civilization ,e.g Asians, Africans, Indians and etc, which was not brought by a black man. It does not really matter which ethnic group brought it, what matters is that we realize the importance harmony as a a human species. It does not help by playing the blame game and pointing fingers, because it does not help even you who is pointing the finger, instead your are helping to increase hate toward one another. All these wars against each other have been existing before our era/ generation, even animals fight against other packs of the same species. We the humans claim to be the smart an dominant species but we are the dumbest because we are the investors of these weapons of war and viruses against other groups. All we need to do as a people/humans wherever is to first stand against hate,corruption, greed racism etc, which all sum up to evil.If we all aim for the same cause we will make the world a better place. The people that push 'THE NEW WORLD ORDER''', are the ones creating this mess by instilling fear in our minds Let's Love and live, Peace

jackie7622 Thank you for your account - we need more people like you and less like them. It's good that you expose how documentaries are sometimes made (often when there's an agenda also), and they end of functioning as propaganda - often stirring the hatred more and more due to unprofessional and a degraded sense of journalism. There's no accountability anymore in this country, so people have learned they can get away with nearly anything.

Soweto was apparently started when native Africans were expelled from the city. Later, more came to work in the gold mines and, in other industry. The government apparently kick many of them off their ancestral lands to force them to seek work in the mines. Soon, a society of wage slaves, or proles was created and, this is what was wrought. Imagine if the government decided to enlist the workers in building nice homes for themselves, which would have created property owners who would have been able to build a decent society. Instead, they got a desperate totalitarian government and, desperate, undisciplined people. If you exploit people for economic purposes and, don't give them ownership of their property and, business and, allow them to rise, you get chaos.

The reporter are too embarrassed to add subtitles because it's their brothers and sisters. If the world gets to know how these guys think - would be too shocking. Did you know that when they rape a girl, there is a special area in Soweto where they can display their 'trophies'. This has gone on even before 1994. THat's why so many people in SA r racists. I live in the UK now, & NEVER has a black person been nasty to me or me to them. Everyone just want to get on & enjoy life. Peace 2 all!

@dans.65256 жыл бұрын
The one key is needed. I hate to say this but from every country where the the white man left, the indigenous idiots cannot govern the nation any better or keep the same. Graft proliferates exponentially, politicians have a free for all. Look at any African country, the people suffer, most live below the poverty line, small crime is rampant, the cops are huge bribe collectors. Etc. THERE IS NO LAW AND ORDER. LOOK AT EVERY OTHER AFRICAN COUNTRY. THEIR STANDARD OF LIVING GOES DOWN AND COST OF LIVING INCREASES. LOOK AT INDIA. EXACTLY THE SAME THING. IT SEEMS THEY HAVEN'T PICKED UP TRASH SINCE THE BRITS LEFT. THEY HAVE NOTHING TO SHOW EXCEPT 15-20% INFLATION. EVEN THE "EDUCATED" CLASS DOES NOT UNDERSTAND INFLATION. THE GOVT TALKS BIG BUT DOES NOTHING. LOOK AT PAKISTAN IT'S A FAILED STATE. THE Indian news media spreads rumors of great wealth and becoming World Power. They lack basic hygiene, personal and public. People visit there and boast about great food. It’s great if you want your address changed to Bathroom xyz street, Mumbai..12345. Not only they lack number of toilets but they lack how to use a toilet and what to do with your hands. Most street hawkers ave no place to do their deed so the gardens are open lavatories and water meant for customers is sparingly used to clean the anus. Yet at night the street hawkers assemble in certain parts of a city (water is available 1-2 hrs in the morning and 1-2 hrs in the evening. People who are well off have their own plastic tanks which should last the whole day. That’s just water. How about food? Guess who controls the price of all grains? The Federal/Central government. I guess you know rest of the story, it’s non-fictional. Look ar countries like Saudi Arabia where some people own 12 Rolls while others herd goats. I can write a real sad book on this topic but the people who would provide the information are well off therefore, accurate information is a needle in a haystack. For the local media it’s a win-loss game.
