THIS. THIS was the era...the time......I was in my late teens (born 1977)....Wish we could ALL go back!! Hip Hop ain't the same in 2024. Legends, Trailblazers, Pioneers from 1980-2010. Period. That Is WHEN HIP HOP/RAP was born. The 80's were the birth. It is such a privilege....to know this when it actually began!!! I remember pulling over on the side of the highway after the second & last time Tupac was shot. I cried my face off like I knew him. It had such an impact on me. I imagine if he were at the 2022 Superbowl halftime, or even here now...what would be HIS message. Wow!! I am and always will be a fan of Em, Dre, Snoop, NWA, and all artists relevant 😊 Also....just putting his out there...When the Chronic was first released.....WE HAD TO ACTUALLY PURCHASE THE CD. He didn't just introduce us to icons like Eminem, 50 Cent, Snoop Dogg, and N.W.A.-he elevated them to global superstardom, shaping the very sound of an era. His work on The Chronic album is legendary, a masterpiece that revolutionized hip-hop and remains one of the greatest albums of all time. I just watched surving compton. Now im always happy when one of us makes it. But what he did to Michelle Le is absolutely horrible. And he kept the cycle of abuse from his family. So did her grandma. Im so glad she survived but this man needs to take the time and get help for the rage under the surface. It's never ok to abuse someone weaker than you. But it's definitely not ok to stay with your abuser. If you cant get out the front door because it's blocked then you bide your time cause everyone sleeps and houses have pots, water and stove. Plow through that obstacle and never look back. Material things can be replaced but lives can not. God bless both of them for surviving Compton.

@@BrettShadow , i have to be humble on this and the fact is that i don't have the knowledge to argue what you Said. I live in Portugal, all i know i had to research.
@BrettShadow5 ай бұрын
@@orangreensp4073 It wasn't my intention to argue and I didn't mean to come across as attacking you or your opinion. I think it would be impossible for someone to try to make the case that DRE isn't one of the fundamentally necessary keys that had yo be turned to fire the engines of rap. No way it looks like it does without him. I do however get aggravated (and I shouldn't) sometimes precisely for the reason you just mentioned. The argument can be made that Warren G has an equal or even greater fingerprint on rap. Warren G Snoop and Nate Dogg were friends running the streets and tryna start something. Dre had already broke in with the WCRC. Warren was Dres lil step bro. Warren begged and begged Dre to listen to their tapes. He refused and really blew G off and treated him like shit. Probably some resentment and pain left from losing his other brother and seeing Warren as a "replacement". G Snoop and Nate kept grinding and trying and it wasn't working. Snoop got so frustrated that he took his notebook folder that he had written ALL of his rhymes in and threw it in a dumpster saying he was done and F rap and F Dre and stuff. Snoop quit and went home. Warren G climbed into the dumpster and got every single scrap of paper back outta there. I'm talking Lodi Dodi, the G Thang verse. The gin and juice verse... basically what would be compared to a handwritten signed copy of the Bible from Jesus. At a party one night there was a break in the music the DJ was spinning and Warren was cool with that DJ. Dre and all his homes there of course and Warren runs outside and grabs a tape and brings it back and asked his homie to play it... that is the first time Dre heard Snoop voice and was immediately like whoa. When everyone signed to Death Row... they all had contracts ready to sign before they got in a plane bags packed. They all showed up... including Warren with his bag packed.. Dre.... signs. . They call in Snoop... he signs.. they call in Nate Dogg.... he signs... they never called Warren. They didn't even have a contract OR plane ticket for him... he watched his brother and 2 best friends walk onto a plane. Standing there with his stuff... and they all went straight to the top. Warren never held it against them. Never spoke an I'll word about any of them. Warren should have had production credit on the chronic. On doggystyle. On Dre day.... he got zero credit... and zero dollars from it. To this day you find an interview with Warren G and a good portion of it will be him just beamin bragging on how proud he is to be Dre brother and how amazing he is and how much respect he has for him.. . I haven't heard Dre mention Warren buy maybe 2-3 times in 30 years. Do yourself a favor. Go discover Warren G... start with the album The G-Funk Era. Start ot track 1 ... and don't skip. You're welcome
