I am privileged to have Polish friends. They are direct with their words...I really like that. They also have a good sense of humour.

I think it is impossible for a westerner to have true friends in Indonesia. Most relationships in Indonesia are coloured by the myth that a westerner will get off a plane and give Indonesians money. This even influences government policy towards foreigners. Of course, Damian has a wonderful Indonesian wife, as do I and this makes living here manageable, even a pleasure. Unfortunately most westerners burn their fingers with Indonesians and become equally materialistic in their relationships. So, even making friends with your own compatriots is difficult, if you can find any, as even Brits in Jakarta are now something of an endangered species.

I have known 2 Indonesians since my first trip to Bali in 1992. One is from Java and one is from Sumatra. They told me very early that we(the tourists) are called WW by the locals... Walking Wallets.

I have just returned from 3 weeks in Bali - I really struggled this time as I found that the people did not come across as genuine. It was like they were only interested in your money. I have been to Bali over 12 times but I think that visit will be my last. Bali seems to be losing its soul and I think overtourism is part of the problem. I am glad you are enjoying Poland and am glad that Damian and you are still a strong couple and hope the future brings wonderful things to you both.

Bali smile is better the only thing I don't like is that in Bali there are too many taxi drivers that are just out to hussle you

Western Europeans have Polish blood too! And there are many Americans and westerners with Polish blood. Martha Stewart is Polish so are many Hollywood actors.

I am sorry but most people would know where Poland is on a map. Poland was one of the richest countries in Europe before communism. Scarlett Johansen, Natalie Portman, Lisa Loeb, Izabella Miko, Wozniak, Jared Kushner and so many more have Polish blood. Also JP 2.

6:10 regarding your question, it's for safety reasons, we don't want a branch to fall on someone's head, also trees grow healthier when you cut branches once for a while, in Poland, everything has to be organised, even the trees

It was super funny the compilation of Damian's photos with the exact same face expression no matter if he's on a tram or on top of the Mount Everest ;D
