I'm sure you've figured it out by now, but just in case and for other viewers, the issue is that you were pointing your toes outward instead of pointing forward like how you normally run/walk. Its a subconscious thing because you're trying to keep your balance but because of that you run awkwardly and fall because one stilt hits the other from behind like at 2:09

Some people get the hang of them straight away, I've had folks on mine do exactly that. Also about ten years ago there was a massive group in the UK who had there things that used to meet up especially in Cardiff and other times trained together to do back flips in gyms and stuff. Good times! I've been clocked on mine at 30mph down a hill by some builders in a truck. Also they're quite often used in stage, though a higher quality brand. (the ones you have are notorious for being bad quality and apparently don't pay the patent owner) Also also they were used in the Beijing Olympic games ceremonies

So its always gonna be a net negative unless you build the muscles and endurance to move em at a high rate. The stilts do none of that and probably actively hamper development of said movement infrastructure.
