Here's how I broke the sprint world record with a Naruto run! By attaching high powered EDF jets to my hands and wearing special slip shoes, I am able to get enough thrust to run 29mph! This technically beats Usain Bolts record of 27mph. Subscribe to see us turn this into a Jet Pack next.

to be fair, usain bolt does not maintain that speed. that is his top speed, usually he reaches that point late in the race, maybe at the 70mts mark. still, mad credits to bolt.

@@briankim7442 makes sense. At a certain speed you'd either have to touch the ground many times faster or basically slide like he did here. He would still not have won because you have to take into consideration that bolt is a consistent runner meaning that he runs at about the same speed consistently whilst the jets have a MASSIVE range of 29 and 23.
@aymanosman7320
@aymanosman7320 Жыл бұрын
You can improve these "shoes with jets" by placing some springs inside of the shoes. That way you can keep sliding and gain a good height so you will use less force for running and probably more speed then Bolt.

I’ve had an idea similar to this before, but instead of the thrust being attached to your arms, it’s attached to your waist on a belt. That way the thrust is also pushing more on your center of mass. You’d need to angle the thrusters at a slightly upward angle to keep them from pushing you into the ground.
@furryalpacca8634
@furryalpacca8634 Жыл бұрын
if you fall you are fked tho, having them on your arms gives you more control and you can react more quickly

@@furryalpacca8634 what about both, stronger ones on your waist slightly tilted up to keep the thrust at the center of your mass and smaller/weaker thrust at your arms to get the controll you want?
@furryalpacca8634
@furryalpacca8634 Жыл бұрын
@@theaumguy1621 I do IT for a living so I always think about possible issues, so I am not trying to discourage you / patronize you :) There are 2 issues with this idea, first if you have like 60+lbs thrust on your waist you won't really be able to counteract that with less power on your arms. Also stopping is an issue, even if you turn the waist thrusters off, it's going to be difficult to counteract the momentum with small thrusters on your arm. This might be fine if you are secure in keeping a good posture, but if you fall forwards you have 60lbs thrust slamming you into the ground. You'd have to react super fast in turning the waist thrusters off and counteracting it, which I think is unrealistic. I could however imagine writing code that reads data from a gryroscope sensor thingy, which would then turn off the waist thrusters as soon as there is a slight shift. This would increase security, but I still think it's a hazard since you A) still have to counteract with arm thrusters & B) having your waist thrust turn off early on if you can't keep the right posture
@debjoybhowal1952
@debjoybhowal1952 Жыл бұрын
@@furryalpacca8634 yes.. that might have a soultion with gyroscope.. but again i agree, the first test is still going to be very high risk. what if something fails. like the code might be setup like.. that the back thrusters only work at a particular angle range and gyroscope values.. but what if we are missing some edge cases. So the risk of trying out real life stuff based on calculation is the main issue.
@theaumguy1621
@theaumguy1621 Жыл бұрын
@@furryalpacca8634 I really love people trying to think/talk about solutions for exact problems, even more so if they have knowledge about it. I can only agree with what you said.. maybe i have 2 soultions for that 1. Maybe its possible that the stronger thruster only works in pulses? so its not constant pushing you, only when a feet touches the ground? or at least have some buttons to controll the power output? or 2. Is it possible to make your body seem lighter without having such a huge thrust at the waist, by lowering the power but tilt it more upwards?

Suggestion: fans at the wrists, pointing toward the shoulder. you can bend your arms at 90 degrees and have the thrust pushing directly behind. It would also allow you to point your wrists up at about 45 degrees while running, to get some lift for longer strides. easier on your rotator cuffs, too.

Hip jets or lower-back jets would be nice(+stabilizer would be perfect), closer to our core which gives a more “natural acceleration feel” for the human body, we didnt evolve to run with force pushing on our far upper-back part or from our arms behind our backs then propelling our shoulder joints to the ground (sorry naruto fans but our ancestors ain’t falling face first without their arms prepared to protect their faces when chasing their preys)

I think you for the next iteration should leave the very front of your shoes with full grip for a truer sliding run, so as long as you're actually running heel-toe you can slide each foot the moment it hits the ground until you're ready to push off again on that leg. You'd have to relocate the propulsion mech though, likely to your back or shoulders for a straight push forwards.

A couple things you could add: -a few small jets on either side of your waist, to propel your legs similarly to your upper body -traction, but only on the tips of your shoes for when you push your legs -weights, to lower your center of gravity (sounds counterintuitive but could be easily countered with the extra jets)

Cool video! A trigger attached to a pneumatic actuator attached with an exoskeleton to the knees or thighs, to prevent over extension and injury for each leg, would be able to do catapulting force to create longer strides so you could stride like a Cheetah which are recorded to have strides of up to 22 feet helping them achieve 70 MPH speeds. Like the Hulk jumping and running. Legs don't need to move faster, they just need to push harder to achieve record breaking strides. Keep up the awesome work!

@@matthewmolinar220 depends how you fall. The average static line jump for a ranger comes in at speeds sometimes exceeding 35mph using their tuck and roll methods. Additionally, I'd assume the person wearing gear that could produce crazy fast land speeds should be wearing protective gear. Street luge racers and bike drag racers have well practiced methods of spilling at those speeds.

It could actually be pretty cool. Mayeb even make him a cop who's testing out new non-lethal tech for the department, so he has their support with stuff.

I'd be curious with some better optimization, how much faster you could get with this. Big concern however is the risk factor. Like just some ideas off the top of my head that I think could work. If the jets were sort of anchored more towards your center of gravity, your balance should be much better. Connected to your arms they can move a lot which means you can't get consistency in the force you're reacting to. If they were anchored and not moving, you'd be experiencing the same level of force consistently, so almost like riding a bike you could learn how to run with the boost. Adding some downward facing jets could help with height/length in the strides while running, pretty much exactly as was being shown at 5:18 when pointing the jets down where it slowed your descent. When paired with the sliding factor as well it should help reduce the weight being put onto the shoes meaning they'd allow you to slide slightly further. Some other ideas exist as well such as some sort of counter-force jets to help stabilize you while running, but really I'm not sure if those would be counter productive.

I reccomend that you build shoes that pushes your foot forward when your foot pushes it forward and then pushes it back when you stepped for each legs. For an easier explanation and where i got the idea,watch the battle beetween teikoku vs raimon on inzuma eleven go aries.

Great video as always! But why did you place the thrusters at the level of your hands? It might give you a bit of speed, but you lose so much stability. Maybe by running normally with your arms swinging back and forth and with the thrusters on your back (on a backpack or a suit), you could go much faster because you would have better control of your speed.

Hey, just a few random questions I would really appreciate an answer to. 1 ) would you be able to go faster using Aluminum Magnesium Boride? 2) would it be possible to create a small material that can allow you to speed run on water kinda like a superhero speedster 3) hypothetically, if u could switch the base of your shoe from Teflon into another material, what would be the best one to increase friction and give you a sudden or strong stop (perhaps even give enough grip to allow for a 90⁰ climb) . (I'm assuming rubber, but would love your opinion on this) Thank you
